Without the backing of a rich and established base gaming system and associated literature there is a danger that the game could lack any depth. RPGs mean something to the players they create nostalgia and excitement when you're immersed in the world.
Not sure what I'm trying to say here but I just hope it doesn't end up 2 dimensional.
The game is based on an established world as far as I know, and some of the writing talent behind it are fantastic. I think the story will be spot on, but I do understand what you're getting at. It would be a crying shame to have another game in the style of say, Baldurs Gate or Planescape and be let down by a poor plot and a shallow world.
^ I am not sure about this one, but that's pretty much guaranteed not to happen in this game https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/
