Depends on what you call well. a million copies isn't all that good nowadays. In fact, they've sold a bit less than that.

For a game that everyone was drooling about, it's an underachievement. And, trust me because I'm good at calling BS around pCARS, the game will go down in history as Shift 3, because that's what it really is.

In that it did peak at no 1, momentarily, so it was "well", relative to other games at that time. Not sure on the actual numbers though.

Not sure if I would go so far as to call it Shift3. The game design is quite different, thankfully, and it drives twice as good, IMO anyway.

^Lol! I must go, my people need me!

BTW imagine if that happened in-game. It would be claimed the most unrealistic physics model ever!

I remember watching this on Live TV, it was simply an amazing moment.

Seeing it again brought back memories xD

For the American's.... this is Australian V8 Super Cars.

It's still way more than any other racing game (on PC), right? So I don't see the issue here. None of the other games had a peak even closely as high.

To me, it seems like lots of people are trying to keep making up issues where there are none. Maybe that's fun, to me it's quite boring.

If all these "issues" were that bad, all the latest Battlefield games would've died within minutes. And guess what, as we all know, they're still alive and being played frequently. So much for that!

That is a good point Radical. Personally, I'm having no issues (offline only), it runs at 75-105fps pm DSX4 and everything else maxed.
My only real gripe that I think needs urgent attention, and I've raised this with WMD during the project and again yesterday, is that manual control needs to be given before the green light, as it somehow always seems to be given at the worst possible track position, but this isn't a bug, its just a game design element that needs amending.

Techspot have posted a gpu bench and what is strange is the radeon cards seem ok at high resolutions and go bad at 1080p but at 1440p the r9 280x is the same as the GeForce 770 in the rain and just shy in the dry races so the problem is with the 1080p resolution where the radeon cards fail.

AMD are NOT doing ok in pCARS, I just looked at that review and I'm not sure what you're seeing.

    1080p clear conditions average fps
    970 - 70fps
    960 - 57fps
    770 - 50fps
    290 - 47fps

    1080p wet conditions average fps
    970 - 46fps
    960 - 32fps
    770 - 28fps
    290 - 27fps

As you see, the 290 is loosing to the 960 and 770, which in most games it will easily beat by a good margin. The story is exactly the same at 1440p. The 290 and 290x should perform similar to the 970 and they're nowhere near. They get closer at 4k, but still behind nvidia in this respect.

I think you are both saying the same thing.

AMD are doing ok at 2160p, starting to look dodgy at 1440p and looked bad at 1080p.

no, I'm saying that AMD gets spanked also at 1440p. At 4k it gets closer, but still looses. the difference in fps will obviously be smaller at 4k as the average fps drops.

    1440p clear conditions
    970 - 69
    960 - 43
    290 - 43
    770 - 44

    1440p rain
    970 - 40
    960 - 30
    290 - 26
    770 - 25

The 290 can't get anywhere near the 970 performance and is hovering around 960 performance or below, which is just poor.

I could run the game at 4k and get as good a performance as a 290 at 1440p.

    GTX 970 is faster than R9 290?

Surely that would just be a driver problem.

Well, it could be that. We'll see I guess.

Motion blur on this game is horrible, it has the same persistence/ghosting problems of the motion blur in Dying Light, it must have been provided by Nvidia I guess. It hurts the IQ so much, image looks so much sharper and clean without it. Worst blur I´ve seen in years.

Ps.- There is no windshield dirt on this game?, console infected decision or something?

Most of the environment (rain/dirt) effects are nothing but .gifs really. DriveClub is the only game beside Sega Rally Revo (atleast for dirt) that makes an effort in this regard.

Apparently its because of ingame physx (sometimes games offloads it to gpu), and rain is also physx based...

That's why also nv has some ugly gpu usage drops, unoptimized pile of physx, just like by physx 2.8. heh not even funny anymore.

yeah, this is what I heard too and if it's true it'll never be fixed for AMD for obvious reasons. I'll wait for this to be confirmed. It wouldn't surprise me though, seeing as it's a TWIMTBP game with a lot of nvidia advertising.

Since when does Pcars use GPU based PhysX? Haven't seen my 750Ti budge from 0% in that game.

Are we also forgetting this is actually happening:
If the game is working fine on their Win10 driver and bad on their Win8.1 driver, it sure looks like a driver issue, does it not?

Yeah but there isn´t any glass reaction to light either, even old games like test drive unlimited had some sort of effect.
