I recently modified the BIOS of my 7800GT to include an additional voltage setting of 1.5v, up from 1.4v. It's now OC'd up to 500/1.2 nice and stable but 3D05 has a problem with it. Every time it changes between GT1 and GT2 it crashes back to the desktop with an error report. Rivatuner reports the clock changed from 500 back to 450 (the BIOS default I added, up from 425 - A BFG 7800GT OC) and then straight back to 500 in between tests - is it normal to do that in an overclocked situation? I never noticed it before. Temps are 60C max and fully stressed in a 3D03 loop, so I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with it. Can anyone help? Will reinstalling just do the job? Thanks in advance
does it do this clock throttle when changing between tests in '03 or just in 05.... it sounds like its pretty stable and if it only happens in '05 i would consider it an anomitally and would overlook it.... although that is weird try running '05 game 1, then seperatly running game 2 and see if this same event happens... but w.e if everything else works like i said i wouldn't let it bother me
Just 3D05, and at the moment I'm using the free edition so no selecting tests seperately. Strange thing is that it stopped, then came back again. Random
Witch program did you use for the volt mod? Nibitorv? I tryed Nibitorv but it didnt gave me the extra voltage option..
I am not one to add voltage to a video card too risky for me, but what is your PSU? it might be a shortage of energy thats causing the problems.
