Having a problem with a mainboard on an extra computer lately and wondering if anyone can help out.

    MSI Z97 Gaming 3

My boy accidentally knocked the pc over onto it side sometime ago and i have had issues starting it since then. I can start it sometimes....other times i cant.

When it wont run...i start it up. It powers up and i get some slow clicking sound.

Tried pulling it a part and found out that if i remove the ram and place it into the other 2 slots the pc will start up no issues. Its seems every now and then when i move the ram back and forth the pc will start again.

Going to buy a new mainboard but figured id ask first.

    Cheers

    Clicking sound?

I suggest you take it apart and assemble motherboard on a box and go from there.
Maybe you can isolate the issue.

Nothing on the motherboard will 'click'.
You may have damaged some other internal parts of PSU or something.

This clicking sound can be HDD, if you are have any mechanical HDD then unplug this HDD during the boot up and check if its boots properly

If not then as Agent-A01 said can be PSU

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura
