I have a question for you people that know power consumption well. Well... im building this new rig and I was hoping you could help me by telling me what you think my new rig will suck up power wise. Its gonna have a Q6600, 4 gb of ddr2 ram, 9800gtx, 2 7,200rpm drives (I think), and 1 - 2 optical drives. Im guessing a 530watt psu would handle that fine, but I just want to make sure...
A good name brand 530watt PSU should be fine. Check out the PSU sticky for some good brands. I recommend PCP&C with confidence. Other's would probably suggest, Antec, ThermalTake, and Corsair, also good.
if u r not going SLI a 620Watt from the corsair HX series would be ample heck even in SLI-it wouldnt break a sweat
