Power Supply dead, x1800xt crumbled?

    On some cards, if you don't connect the power to the video card, it will still work. Then you go to play a game and its @ 10fps. Soo ya you need that psu to give the video card the juice to draw those graphics fast,,,

    Not according to my CLub3d box it isn't.

    Minimum requirement for a X1800XT 512mb is 350W.

    hey so after i plug the power supply in and turn comp on, the cpu fan spins for a sec then stops and i see the motherboard green light but nothing is working means the power supply is dead right?

    No it's not dead, it just won't start up for some reason.
    I don't know how much the card draws when starting-up and I can't explain why it doesn't run in 2d mode at least.
    It's possible it's just a faulty psu.

    However... for a trouble-free gaming experience, you still need more Amps on your +12v1 rail for this card.
