Did you even read the hardocp?

These results probably surprise you. We had thought Crysis: Warhead was completely GPU dependent, however we have found that CPU performance does affect the playable settings attainable on the same video card configuration.

The Intel Core i7 920 and Intel Core 2 QX9650 had a clear gameplay advantage in thought Crysis: Warhead. We were able to run at "Gamer" spec and enable 4X AA at 1920x1200 and still maintained much higher framerates than the two AMD CPUs. Even though we were running at higher graphics settings the two Intel CPUs at default frequencies were far superior in performance in this game.

dude doesnt matter he has a i7 at ~3ghz anyway.. and he wont play on low settings, so he will be gpu bound.

i am surprised! all maxed out and only just playable with your resolution @1920x1200 i thinks its going to be unplayable or very choppy it was like that for me with a single 5850 25 fps. its good now in the 45-55 fps all maxed im so glad now i went with the 5970 sorry man i hope things get better driver wise.

Yeah tho i didnt want to go with the hassle of dual gpu / SLI /Xfire, profiles updates etc ..
I just wanted the fastest gpu and for me Nvidia always pull'd through with their drivers and i think PhysX is awesome if they can incorperate it more ...
Also i already have a GTX285 wich will be a dedicated PhysX card ^^...

Tho i have a problem atm since the layout from my Gigabyte UD7 is just craptastic i cant seem to fit the GTX285 in the lowest PCI-E port because the power connector and hdd led connector etc seem to interfere with the card to fully plug it in .. !:bang:

So now i need to mod the card (aka cut/mutilate) it to get it in ...

fusion you try fluidmark? this give really good indication of the physx power of the card.

Not very an hassle if you ask me. It's actually pretty fun to have a multi-GPU setup and keep everything sharp and updated.

I think you may have ruined the cooling of your 285. The fan is enclosed in the shroud for a purpose, to focus the air directly on the GPU core. With that hole on the side, air will be escaping and will likely worsen the cooling. Monitor your temps and let us know the result.

Awesome. Didn't even have to ask.

And with those stock leafblowers, I found you couldn't really modify them at all to get better temps. The only thing you could do was cut the intake hold bigger.

nah i dont think you did anything wrong, when i used an 8500gt for physx with my 260,i had to overclock the 8500gt to the moon to get even close to the physx performance of a single 260,so you are probly gonna have to overclock your 285

Lol its a XXX card from XFX so its already OC'd well not ''to the moon'' but i just bench'd Batman AA and it didnt show any performance increase :S, same goes for Metro2033 downloading a few demos just to be sure my GTX285 is working.

yeah with the physx efficency of the 480s,a second card unless its a 470/480 for physx may not be worth the extra heat an electricity

Yeah, pretty much as i thought no need for dedicated physx card with the 480, it's already far powerful enough by adding 285 it actually slowed your result.
