It was a 386SX, then a 386DX, then a 486SX, DX, DX2 (didn't get a DX4). Then my dad bought a Cyrix 686, and gave me a P166MMX (with the extra cache, which made it pwn hard, and play HalfLife).

Mind you, that time frame happened during 1995-2000. We were so ghetto. DOS pwns.

Well, depends. First family machine that I used was something along this:
    Intel Pentium 133 MHz
    64MB RAM
Trident TGUI96801-1 (I still have this card, dunno why) graphics accelerator
    Phillips 12" CRT
    8GB HDD
    Windows 95, then Windows 98.

    My first actual machine was:
Intel Pentium 4 2533 MHz (Northwood)
NVIDIA GeForce 4200 Ti AGP (later GeForce 6600GT)
    256 MB DDR-2100 (later 1 GB DDR-3200)
    80 GB HDD (later 80 + 120 GB HDD)
    ASUS P4B533-VM
    Windows XP Pro

    and then now:
AMD Athlon X2 4200+ @ 2.5 GHz (now AMD Phenom II 810 @ 2.9 GHz, dual core now powers media centre)
320 GB Hitachi HDD SATAII (now 500 GB WD Caviar Black HDD SATAII) + SEAGATE 500GB ES Class Enterprise Drive.
    2 x 1 GB DDR2-667 Kingston ValueRAM (now 4 x 1 DDR2-800 KVR, 667s to media centre) ... gonna try to get 8GB DDR2 this winter.
    ASUS M3A
    ATi Radeon HD 4850 w/ 512 MB GDDR3 (used to be Radeon HD 3650 w/ 512MB GDDR2, now in bro's machine).
Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition x64

First comp I bought myself was from Time in the UK, was a P166 with a 3Gb HDD and maybe 128Mb RAM. Paid about £800 from memory. Imagine what that would buy today?
