yeah...man...these drivers are fairly different...in a funny way...

just when i installed it...i mean...everything was already in with out having to restart the PC...
my display changed to high res right away...with out any need to restart...automatically...plus the sli column in the task bar also appeared...right away..

    EDIT...
them 77.72 hung over me once again....dont know if its because of this or the new chip set drivers....some how the new IDE drivers are'nt installing...

    broke 80k

infact just hit 80358 in Aqua using 77.76

all i did was..change the ram and tightened the timings...
it was on auto before....and seemed to have forgotten about it....

OC just a little bit your CPU you will see an incredible gain, the aquamark like Fast CPU, Same on 3DMark 01-03.. cause the GPU don't limit the score on this old Benchmarks the bigger increase is made by the Memory and CPU speed...

Lane is right, and it especially loves memory bandwidth, so push your FSB up a bit, and get that memory working. Also, tighten any memory timings, and u will see nice gains.

He's right apart from te fact 3dmark03 doesn't care about your cpu. Its 3dmark05 that does. I gained 1200ish points just by ocing my 4000+ by 400mhz in 3dmark05 whereas I only gained a couple hundred with the same oc in 3dmark03.

But anyway scores in my sig. :)

Yeah, i meant about Aquamark... that benchy see's some serious gains from small CPU increases in performance/bandwidth.

Sorry I get yah mike! Yeah AM3 is heavily both cpu and gpu dependant. I see people on here beating my old score of 73k I got on my 6800gt with p4 @ 3.6ghz with a 6600gt and a fast athlon64.

Mine are in my signature..... got a fair bit of cpu limitation though

Yes i have see this in many bench. with 2x7800 you nee a real fast CPU, i think FX57 or next FX59 is really more appropriate to this powerful SLI rig. Hmm, I think too the drivers are not reallly totally at the full level for SLI and 7800.

    thanks for the advice....guys...

HMm...i've never tried OCing this system and for some reason the entire concept freaks me out....
    mainly because of the temprature
I dont mind OCing it's just that the temps scare me....

I should buy a proper heat sync for my processor...
I did see one by Termal Take in the store...
If i dont get my hands on a FX57 then i guess im bound to get into Ocing a tad bit that is...

i wonder how much an OC @2.5Ghz would cause my system to heat..
my temps are around 35C-40C during normal use....

and it hits about 50C on full load if my room's
very hot roughly what kind of an increase in temprature should i expect...

will most definatly let you guys know if i give OCing a try....:D

    ______________________
Since most of you are either using DFI boards or A64 Tweaker
i'd like to ask you guys weather or not the settings
i've place through the tweaker has any system damaging prospects (in a deteriating fashion ) negative effect on my hardware etc
    [IMG]
well my main consern is that i've brought the Async Latency down from a default of 7ns to 5ns
and i've brought Read Preamble from a Default of 5.5ns to 4ns...

My systems running fine...although a 4ns in Async was asking for too much....
    Prime95 for 8hours 36minuites 0 errors..
and Memtest for only 3hours but with 0 errors....

So what i mean to be asking here is of your advice on the acceptance to keep such settings on a system for Daily use...
in other words i hope they're not pushing my headware towards death....since i've but only recently learnt of these settings...

My Asus bios has kept me blind to these settings...and im seriously wondering why...
    thanks as always...

Well while im at it....these 77.77 run quite hot but i guess thats a norm for drivers these days...
77.13 gave me the highes GPU boost in Aquamark..
my aim is to only get through to a trick with out over-stressing my hardware to achieve 85000 in Aqua ...lol
do you guys think thats possible with out OCing....lol
damn my deams of magic drivers seem to be fading out...:D

Yeah, for overclocking, the Asus is limited in the amount of options it has. But that is the same with most boards. And its also the reason I switched from Asus to DFI. If you want that kind of stuff u gotta go DFI.
As for overclocking, is it a san diego core 4000 u have there? if it is I recon you could get yourself to 2.6ghz (FX-55 speeds) without and increase in vcore. vcore is the main thing that pushes up temps.
Talking of which, what temps are you getting?

Sorry for being unavailable for a while...
My account had been reset , so i could not post for a while...

My temps at stock are around 38C-40C during normal use....
50C during high room temps and full load .

    I've managed to lower my
    CL - 1.5* (down from 2)
tras down to 0* (down from 2 )
trrd' to 0* (down from 4*) - still testing this one /could cause data curruption i think.
Read Preamble to 2.0ns (down from 4ns)
Write Read Queue Bypass - 16x (increaded)
Dynamic Idle Cycle Counter - Disabled (disabling this helped boost my systems overall performance in aquamark as my CPU scored by about 100points more and unreal2004's bench gained 1.5fps...lol thats alot for some one like me with a non OC'd system)

i have yet to test these through memtest , although having a similar set of settings besides 'trrd' to 0 , i managed to pass memtest with out any errors after a coverage of 14254.7 %.

A funny thing did happen inbetween though...
Running HL2 on some what much looser timing in a few columns there got the game to run super smoothly , my " show_fps " meter did'nt go to red in the worst of worst scenario ...

But i cant seem to remember what conbination did thing to work that ways eRRr...

I do have another question for you -
While using Riva Tuner /under system tweaks/ compatibility tab
there's this option that says "enable motherboard chip set compatibility mode!!

Do you find this setting of any importance , i have'nt tuched it as yet because im not sure if its safe to mess with , could'nt come up with a proper search on google for that , besides some one saying it does'nt do anything!

My messy tweaks seem to have gotten me a score of 82800 (from 80800)- in Aqua using the 77.77 Forceware..
Im sure using older drivers could help me cross that even further with ease since the 77.13 get me 81.5k+ but i dont want to be changing drivers during the process of tweaking my system further :D

Hey by the way do you know of any other such tweak tools like the A64 Tweaker but with more options :D:D

    thanks as always...

    GPU:
    2 x XFX 7800GTX Extreme Gamers Edition
    XFX 7800GTX Extreme Gamers Edition.

    With the 77.7 drivers I get :-

    12,126 3dMark'05

    30,179 3dMark'03

    I am running an air cooled 4800+ X2 at 220x12 = 2640 so faster than a stock FX55.
