Adding a little update for the folks asking about that battery percentage mod. It took some toying around with the Kitchen but I finally got the wifi meter and phone signal meter to show some color. Looks more sick than the boring grey color. Enjoy...plus my new lock screen setup.

Galaxy S with CyanogenMod 7.1 and Gingerbread launcher (since original roms are crappy at best, I've had enough of Android - I will change to WinPho next year). Nothing ever worked perfectly and the official rom has huge battery consumption bug. Useless piece of ****.

How fast does it drain your battery? Android 4.0 is a big step up for Android. Though Samsung will NOT officially release Android 4.0 on Galaxy S citing lack of ROM space due to it not fitting TouchWiz. Best alternative is to get CM9 when that comes out.

Also, why not install a better launcher like Go Launcher Ex instead of using the stock Android 2.x launcher?

Even though it sucks and even my old Nokia N80 has better app launcher, I'll use it instead for now. I removed ADW launcher because I didn't like it. There was a few minor annoyances that annoyed me greatly. I might check out GO Launcher Ex later. To be completely honest, TouchWiz launcher isn't actually that bad at all.

50% left after two days. It looks like wifi uses more battery but standby usage is great.

Since Android is very data-intensive because how connected the device is to the Internet, as long as you use any radios, you'll drain the battery. My device only lasts a day because I'm a heavy data user. If you disable data completely, it can last you for days.

I know. CyanogenMod does have higher battery usage when you actually use the phone or listen to music. Data connections use more juice too. It does not have as good power saving features than stock ROMs. I always disable data when I do not need network connection.

I hate having 2 clocks on my homescreen. there's an option in kitchen pro to remove the clock from the notification bar.

if you're on any other screen you have no clock. That's my main reason for not removing the stock clock from the notification bar.

so why do you need it again on the main screen if it's already on the notification bar?

how do you know the time if you're not on the main screen and somewhere else on the phone :bugeye:

That's the point of it being on the notification bar. If anything having a big one on the main screen is kind of pointless (even though I like having it there).

Yes, that's what I said, why does anyone need it again on the home screen if it's already in the notification bar?

Quick and easy access? I can quickly look at the big clock. Plus, for me, the clock, when you tap on it, brings up the alarm, and underneath the clock is the weather info.
