Well, using a router, a jigsaw, and a ruler. There are plenty of designs out there in the public domain - and you can taylor them to your exact requirements :)

Don't think I'll ever buy commercial hifi speakers again (that said I love Mordaunt Short stuff).

It does make me laugh though...one costs $1600 and one costs $400 using premade cabinets (about $100 less if you make your own), and they use the same drivers.

Cool thread Deckard. Nothing good is hooked up to my PC, but I have some hi-fi gear nonetheless.

Did you build the amp yourself Brian? What's in it?

I did not build it Tom. It is homemade, and unfortunately the dude that made the Go Vibe amps has now left the business... and it seems he took his website down.
This is the best I can find atm.

There used to be pictures of the internals on the Go Vibe site, but now I can't find them anywhere.

Have a look :) (The design I posted earlier was the Seas L15RLYP / 27TFFC System).

A lot of very interesting reading on there, with lots of fully documented designs. It's an excellent site.

Thanks for the link Tom F... fantastic reading, and something I'm really interested in doing some time soon.

Unfortunately it looks as though a lot of the components (particularly speaker enclosures) are not available for purchase in the UK... very irritating. I need to find out a way to source stuff...

(speakers are the little brother's of Milenko's set)
Polk rti8's for fronts(bi-amped... made a dif for me)
    csi3 for center
    rti4's for rears
    and a 500w sub in the Bic-H100(beastly for $250)

I'm waiting on getting an hdmi capable TV to hook up the PC for HT use. Right now I've got a 55" Sony RPCRT that does 480P and 1080i through component and DVI. To sum up the CRT for PC use 480P is not worth it and 1080i looks like complete a$$. 1080i looks awesome out of my 360 and DVR though so . I may still hook up the HTPC just to try out the surround sound(just bought all the sound stuff) on a few games although my eyes may get fried in the process.

Here's another supplier of bits. They sell the drivers there, but it's sizably more expensive than from the US...I think I would order from the states myself.

    They do kits too...

Cheers Tom F / John Dolan! The price of drivers is a lot higher, but I do wonder what the customs charges would be like importing them from the States.... either way, going to find out ;)

Annoyingly enough, it's almost guarunteed to still be cheaper, even considerring customs charges and the higher shipping costs.

Usually they charge you VAT on it, but some stuff they charge 15% duty and then VAT. Bastards!
