    With these settings

    [IMG]

    I get 180.32fps with fps cap @ 300..

    HyBrId

    P.S. Edit to come with the 650/2000 overclock using those settings also..

    EDIT: With my 8800GTS 640mb overclocked to 650/2000 With the settings shown above and this screenshot below, I get 218.72fps with fps cap at 300..

    132fps

    wow im really surprised at how low some of the scores are with C2D cpus! i was thinking of upgrading to a Q6600 and 2900XT but i cant seem to find any stress test results for a stock speed Q6600 and OC'd to 3Ghz...so if anyone has a Q6600 please post results! i was hoping to get over 200fps at least if i upgrade....

    CS:S Benchmark
    All settings turned up
    4xAA
    16xAF

    2560x1600 - 173.13 FPS
    2048x1536 - 195.09 FPS
    1600x1200 - 204.42 FPS
    1280x1024 - 212.87 FPS
    1024x768 - 199.89 FPS
    800x600 - 202.45 FPS
    640x480 - 209.30 FPS

    The first thing you notice here is that the penalty for 4xAA is minimal at any resolution and the game becomes CPU bound at
    1600x1200 and below pretty much.

    All settings turned up
    16QxAA
    16xAF

    2560x1600 - 72.42 FPS
    2048x1536 - 102.05 FPS
    1600x1200 - 180.05 FPS
    1280x1024 - 200.46 FPS
    1024x768 - 204.16 FPS
    800x600 - 202.78 FPS
    640x480 - 202.26 FPS

    Here we see that 16QxAA causes far more of a penalty at very high resolutions but the penalty disapears altogether at
    1280x1024 at which point the CPU once again causes the bottleneck.

    with all hardware@stock and 16xAF and 8xAA i get the following:

    640x480 = 110fps
    800x600 = 110fps
    1024x768 = 110fps
    1280x1024= 110fps

    i think that means that i need a faster CPU. i tryed overlcoking put my CPU to 2.64GHz ran through all resolutions again and got 125fps across the board.

    8xmsaa 16xaf everything else maxed with supersampling and high quality in control panel
    2048x1536 = 169.59fps
    1280x1024 = 233.64fps
    resolutions lower is the same, perhaps 2fps faster

    With those frame rates you want to be playing in 16xCSAA and Transparency Supersampling. Nice results

    142.16 average fps

    1600x1200 with all settings on and maxed Except VSync

    2.8 Opty 144 (Single core)
    Evga Geforce 7900 GS @ 600 core/750 mem
    1 gig Ultra DDR @ 412

    Not bad for a system that cost less than 700...

    *EDIT*

    300 fps is CSS Default max, and in order to up it, you need to change it in the console right as the test begins

    In console type "FPS_Max XXXX"

    I used 600 for the test, because I know Ill never hit that....In game I leave it at 85 to match the refresh rate of my monitor
