no , i dont like playing at less than 60 fps average , it hurts my score in BF3 for ultra you need a very large VRAM size, dont even try it, the game doesnt warn you but you get bad framerate drops on Ultra with only 1 gig of vram cards because you are running out of memory (it starts using system ram)
Ok, so for 60+ constant fps you need a mosnter card for ultra, ok I grant it.... But look at mine: lowest: ingame menu + settings: in game: I'm a believer that scores avobe 30fps are not really affected unless you get massive stuttering, but if frames are smooth and constant its just some psicological issue that makes you think so. The smoother the better, of course, but 40-60fps constant for ultra, for me, is more than enough (for this setup, wait for my perf increase when I upgrade) Edit: i just chose a random mission to show you, but in all missions its the same. now for online gameplay, well that's another story i mean, its not only about your pc, its about lag, about your Internet provider/connection, etc etc etc
we are obviously talking about two different things? you're posting single player screenshots , certain maps on 64 player multiplayer are far more intensive than the single player there is no way you're playing at all ultra on Multiplayer and getting good perfomrance with your rig
also, internet explorer uses less vram on the battlelog page than firefox and having the browser page small will reduce it even more. with no aero and battlelog on IE i get 50mb vram usage. would be hard to get less than that. altho it prolly less if i close afterburner but then wouldnt know would we.
For some reason when Operation: Metro loads, my video card clock drops to 400mhz which makes the game run like crap. As soon as the next map loads the clock jumps back up to where it should be. Anyone else having weird issues like that? I unistalled Afterburner and reinstalled it and it fixed it but I'm wondering if it will happen again in the next few days.
I agree, that's why I'm going for an i5 2500k + 8gig ram 1600 + Z68 asus board and i was going to do a CF with 6850s but i'll wait a few more montha and get a high end 7000 series GPU or nvidia 600 gpu (in the meantime i'll save some more $$$)
ok guys i figured out how to inject fxaa (move the files to game directory and use inspector to toggle on) but i was looking at some of the screen shots posted so was wondering how to remove the sharpening filter since it lowers fps and doesnt look as good as just fxaa or is there a way to sharpen without loosing fps
Well I added a second GTX 460 today and I'm very pleased. I whacked the setting to High (better than I had before), Now getting between 60 and 80fps
no. that's very similar to what I'm running. Ultra with 2xAA instead of 4xAA will work nicely though. 4xAA is playable, but dips to mid 30's don't like that. not online. this is what the game looks like (sorry about the screenie size). Caspian border, 64player, check top left corner. when calm, it easily runs 60fps, with regular action it sits between 55-60, then in heavy battles I see drops to mid-high 40s.
Haven't run fraps yet but I just left everything at high including using AA etc. with v sync off. Was just playing the map with the tunnel (not sure of name!) with a full 32 server and noticed I was getting some tearing outside and my monitor is 120hz. Haven't noticed any slow down whatsoever in sp or mp since I started playing it last Friday. So I'm happy with leaving things as they are.
You should put the second "Terrain" option to low ... it increase my fps bu much. Game should be restarted to see the effect
How do you get such good FPS? I have to play on high with my GTX 570/i5 2500k system, and I had believed the GTX 570 to be a lot better than the 460. :S I'll quote a previous post I made in the thread that barely got any responses. Anybody with an unclocked GTX 570 that can tell me what they're getting? Also the jittery mouse that comes with the low FPS just renders the game unplayable. You build a new rig for a game and this is what you get... :bang:
I did up a couple vids, I did as Lord_Exodia suggested at another forum Set the game to post process high, Set deferred AA to off, in the nvidia control panel set to override appllication for AA Set Supersample and set Transparency AA Good quality and I shut off v-sync and Average 120FPS with Fraps Recording.Just amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2w2aNPUcjY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfcW51Y9Opw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvhZ1KUsiVI
I have a 480 mate, not a 460. And it's overclocked to near enough 580 performance. I run everything on ultra, only shadows on high and 2xAA. Everything else on ultra. Runs great. You should be getting same performance mate.
Same here that Vram hungry game is the spoiler of highest settings, i have been testing till i got around 950MB but the gpu usage is still around 65-70%. Pity because i would using more eye candy on 4 or more msaa but the vram is limiting. Well its looking great after all so no complaining here though.
I dont. I get 60 average on high along with awesome mouse stutter. What is your fov? Geez, I get a new PC and it's misbehaving and underperforming since day one. :bang:
