It will certainly be a major step up from what you have now altho i can't find any specific reviews of that model it seems that Onkyo receivers are generally well liked on here ... Can't really comment on the speakers but i'm fairly sure they would also be up to the task too ... Best bet is to go listen to 1 working if thats possible :)

    Thanks rougue.

I went to an electronic showroom yesterday and that guy showed me the demo of onkyo HT3200. I was really impressed and got onkyo HT-3300(b).

the setup was easy and the user manual was good.

    How did I connect:
All the speakers are connected to Onkyo AVR using the provided cable.
HDMI connection from My Sony Blue ray player to Onkyo AVR in.
HDMI cable from Onkyo AVR out to my Monitor.

BUT, I really need some help from you all guys in answering below questions:
    1. The onkyo package box had DTS-HD and Dolby-True HD logos. However when I connected everything and played Avtar Blue ray with DTS-HD master audio, I could only see the "MCH 5.1 audion and PCM 5.1" in the display of the AV Reciever. It should display DTS Mater HD I right ? Does that mean I'm not getting DTS Mater HD audio ?

    2. Also when I switch on my player, AVR and monitor, my monitor goes to sleep and wakes up. This happens continuously.
The HDMI cables are good, one was given by sony along with player and another I bought which is poineer brand. Is this happening because my monitor's power saving ? Monitor is Dell S2409W.

Guyes please help... I'm really confused by the above two issues...

Guys the problem 1 is solved. Problem 2 still exists.

    How problem 2 got solved:
    ====================
Yesterday I was going through the options of this player and encountered the below:
    "Downmix BD audio"

The option downmixes BD audio to MCH I think. In the manual they asked to disable this option for direct Lossless BD audio over HDMI. I diabled it and it worked :)
I'm able to see Dolby True HD and DTS Mater Audio in Onkyo's display.

    My second problem:
    ===============
Opening a new thread outside this thread as this thread is mainly for posting AVS setup and not problems with the setup.

    Thanks all....

Just picked up a pair of B&W DM 603 S2's for a bargain price ... Couldn't resist especially as they will match my 601 S2's which will now be relegated to surround duty ... Slightly overkill i know but should improve 6 channel stereo hopefully :)
Sry bout the crap pic but i'll try and get some more in better light and set up :)

Done a few upgrades to mine now. Replaced the crappy 17" monitor with a 32" TV (LG 32LF7700) as my second screen. Added a black wii to the setup and got my external hard drives and HD DVD drive as pernament fixtures.

Ok, instead of throwing away the old computer bits, I made our first HTPC. It's very budget, but manages HDTV and games quite nicely.
Add in a home network, a couple of Xbox - and you have a pretty cool set of extenders.

    • Case: Silverstone SST-LC17B (a really nice HTPC for long graphics cards)
    • PSU: Corsair TX 650W (not as loud as everyone says it is)
    • Sound Card: Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer SB0770
    • Motherboard: Abit IP35 (oldie but goldie)
    • Memory: 6GB OCZ DDR2
    • CPU: C2D E6550
    • HDD: 2x Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB
    • Cooler: Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile
    • VGA: MSI 3870x2 Overclocked (very loud, but the next upgrade)
    • Cooling Fans: FractalDesign 80mm Silent Series Cooling Fan
    • Monitor: Generic Samsung 37" HDTV (VGA + HDMI connections)
    • Receiver: Yamaha RX-V461DAB
    • Surround Speakers: Creative GigaWorks® G550 (plugged direct in to the receiver)
    • Left & Right Speakers: Fabulous Mission MV8
    • Joy Pads: Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver For Windows
    • Wireless Mouse: Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000
    • Wireless Keyboard: Logitech EX 100
    • Media Center Input: Microsoft Windows Media Center IR Receiver + Remote

    We're really chuffed with it.
Special thanks to the Gurus who helped with the project.
Now to watch Machete in HD again. "I absolve you of all your sins. Now, get the f*ck out!"
    :toke:

EDIT: The Speaker's weren't hitting the spot, so I brought a set of Mission MV8... aaah feel the bass

Its really old Sony STR-DE235 dolby pro logic receaver i bouth year 1999.

It supports 4.1 but dont have subwoofer and rear speakers (works in mono)

    3 front speakers and no sub/rear = 3.0

My current iteration, monitor & printer will probably be going elsewhere once my gaming room is fully renovated. Sound is 7.1, figured no point in adding picks of single speakers.

Thanks. Regarding HTC have you tried HTC Home 2.0? These 2.0 alpha builds fixed many issues I was having. Keep in mind some of these builds are better than others.
