Rocket dock works great though don't think it messes with your GUI.
I don't think it does. I think it just runs as a background app.
Updated and sexy.
ubuntu (gnome) 8.10 x64 with compiz fusion
and cube as cylinder..
Couldn't get any good caps of the windows burning down or changing shape while being moved but if you want to see more do an internet search for compiz fusion or beryl and it will make you want to try linux.
Yes I realize this is a windows thread... :tux:
I've had window blinds **** my **** up multiple times. You're right about the dock software though. The dock software never gave me problems. I'm pretty sure it was just window blinds.
MS contracted stardock to do the dreamscene, and am not sure but i think they may had something to do with gui as well, either way, you would think they could code it fine with minimal problems for most.
though i've never had any issues with all their latest beta via stardock central. they work perfect but their non-beta's suck for me on x64, so not sure why they keep beta's so long.
but if you havnt tried thier beta's, may give it a go
If it isn't free and isn't uninstallable I don't use it.(or ease of uninstall) Anybody here ever try rain meter?
Homage to my shiny new toy!

BLaa I thought this was nice. I use a basic theme for minimal CPU/GPU/MEM use. I need speed :nerd:
Just a link then
I wouldn't have thought the Aero theme is going to set you back any on your rig! I think its a shame to run Vista if looks the same as Wi n 95!!! lol
OMG Look at how many windows you have open! If you close all those windows you'll use less resources. Windows 7 fixes this issue, but until then I'd close some windows.
Are you running Win7 as your full time OS???? I thought it was still at the milestone build stages!!!!
I know a lot of people who have started to run Win7 as their primary. For a Beta build, it's incredibly stable. I'm not so trusting of it though. For now, it's staying in VMware.
That's not for me either tbh! Running a beta as a main OS is a bit risky imo! Anyways good luck to em!
what does it do different? out of curiosity...open all in a single window perhaps?
Hey sorry for taking so long to reply.
Ok, so the bar on top is called Rocketdock. It's a cheap version of objectdock (I think, I might be wrong about that, they might both be free...) and it's available at http://rocketdock.com
You can customize your icons to be whatever you want. That text icon pack I am using I found on www.deviantart.com by going into the icons section and searching for "text icons" - You'll have a few choices there.
I think that's them...
Having the icons drop down in a curved list, that's 'stack docklet' - someone already mentioned it I think - I'll link you directly to that one also.
So there... now you can clone my desktop
Theme is transblack final or something, let me look for that too.
There.. I may have already linked to it in this thread, but that's ok because it's the best vista theme out there.
I bet it's something to do with the svchost handling. Just a guess.
You know what's even funnier with Win7? When you play a MP3 with a header of > 16 KB in the mediaplayer, and 'apply media information changes' is turned on, the MP3 gets corrupt. So beware

I can't wait for the official 64-Bit version...
