here are the memory specs on the laptop
    Memory
    Memory
    4GB
    Memory Speed
    DDR3 1066
    Memory Spec
    2GB x 2
    Memory Type
    204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM
    Memory Slot (Total)
    2
    Memory Slot (Available)
    0
    Max Memory Supported

what I'm worried about it says max memory supported 8 GB but I'm wondering if thats because 64 bit is not installed?

I don't think there are too many laptops that will take 8gb sticks yet.

The CPU is utter crap, why waste good RAM in a slow machine like that?

Pretty much any Intel based laptop, even the $300 ones, will whip that thing in any scenario.

Phenom II is better than both of them, also AM3+ is more futureproof and provides an easy upgrade path to Piledriver which will be AM3+.

The 960T Zosma is an X4 that can possibly be unlocked to an X6. If you can unlock the extra 2 cores that would be fantastic (no guarantees tho).

Otherwise the X6 1100T is the best performer, followed by a highly overclocked X4 like my 955.

I assume you will be overclocking? :)
