I'm trying to rearrange my IRQ's.
Sharing my vid card's IRQ is the following:
-OHCI IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is a Host Controller, and how can I change it's IRQ?
Can it ONLY be done through the BIOS? Since there's no PCI card to switch manually...?

VIA has an IRQ rerouter on their website. Here's the link:
http://www.via.com.tw/drivers/index.htm
Hope that helps!
BM
[This message has been edited by Bitch Magnet (edited January 19, 2001).]

Oh, and to answer the question, a "Host Controller" is really a "Bus Adapter" which translates from one type of bus to another. In this case a 1394 bus to a PCI bus.
BM

    I have a AMD-751 chipset (Irongate).
So I assume the VIA IRQ router will not work for me... right?

Well, I'm sorry to disappoint, but I couldn't find anything regarding IRQ's and AMD's Irongate (751) chipsets. Having an AMD 751 certainly rules out using VIA's drivers. What I did find was their FAQ on 'complex systems' but I think you might have read it already! It's a little wordy, but it does have some good stuff in it. I hope that helps a bit!
http://www.amd.com/support/faqs/irq.html
BM
[This message has been edited by Bitch Magnet (edited January 21, 2001).]

So, I did some more digging, and found that in some cases you can use VIA's drivers (on motherboards with 686A's on them) so you could if you knew what's on your mobo. In fact you will need Via's IRQ routing driver for those.
Check here... http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q182/6/04.ASP
Brann
