    Remove your card
    Take an Hammer
Hit as hard as you can and as much time as necessary.

Then go at the store and buy something else.

I had a 5200 for 1 week, then I got rid of it because it S*** big time.

A simple 6200 is way way way faster than yours.

Search for the "Ultimate FX5200 Optimisation thread" and read it...

    Get a 6800NU/LE/GT/Ultra and pimp that! ;)

Nothing to pimp on that card of yours. ;)

Ok, since I have proudly pimped out a geforce2 mx400 64mb to play ut2k4, FarCry, and doom3, I believe I may be of some help. I don't know about newer cards but on mine the only way to make it faster is to overclock it more. I use powerstrip to overclock. Don't use the nvidia control panel via coolbits to overclock as it is annoying and not relieable IMO. You can only overclock a card so much til you get memoy and core leakover that causes annoying artifacts.

STEP 1: Search in and around your place of residence and find the biggest heatsinks you can. I located a 2500 watt broken power invertor which had some real nice ones in it.

STEP2: Locate a hacksaw and cut the sinks to fit clearances desired while keeping them as big as possiable.
On my card I needed 3. One for the chip and two for the ram chips - one on each side of the card.

STEP3: Steal some silver thermal compound from someone who won't harm you physically (or just buy some cheap heatsink grease for 3.99 @ compusa)

STEP4: Apply compound and secure sinks to card using care not to shortout the card or mob. Thick ruber bands work nicely as they don't conduct current but do exert fource.

STEP5: Locate several fans...five is a good number. Position them to blow on the heatsinks and secure them with screws or poster tack in the desired places.

STEP6: Locate an AC to DC transformer to power all the fans as I had some problems with mobo voltages when I had them all connected to my 200 watt psu. I used a transformer I found in a blown computer subwoffer.

STEP7: Fire up your rig and use powerstrip to see how far you can now push your card. Also depending on your mobo clock gen, you might be able to tweak your fsb via softfsb if your bios doesn't let you. If softfsb doesn't support your clock gen goto www.digchip.com and download the pdf for your clock gen and softfsb will let you program in support for your clock gen.

This concludes our lesson in pinp my ****ty video card. BTW my gf2 does 260mhz on air cooling - 265 if its not too hot out and 480 on the ram.

I didn't think there was such a thing as the fx5200le. The regular FX5200 was already pretty slow.

I don't think that card is pimpable. Even if it was it would still be an FX5200le--just overclocked some. It will still be slow.

It's probably better just to find an old 4600ti, they can't cost that much any more and they will sure as hell beat a 5200 by a long way! The only thing you'll lose out on is shader support, but you wouldn't see a benefit running those paths on a 5200 anyway.

[edit] forgot to mention (in fact you all probably know this already), if you are running a dx9 game on a 5200, use rivatuner to force shaders 1.4. The quality won't look that different but you should see a fairly big fps boost.
