I can't remember where I saw this, but when the 8800 GTX was first coming out, I saw this picture on some forum (can't remember if it was here or somewhere else) of a funny spoof that somebody had done in the voodoo days when 3dfx started making ridiculously longer and longer cards...

It was something like a 50's commercial (nicely colored) that had a ridiculously long card (edited Voodoo 5 6000 that was made to look even longer??) and a drawn guy holding it... and it had something like "big card ownage" and funny stuff like that all over.

Altogether, it looked pretty professional from what I can remember - like the motivational posters during WW2.

I've been trying to find that picture via image search engines, but no luck.

Does anyone have it or have any idea how I can find it?

Anyone notice how 2 of the bullet points, while outragous for the time (256MB of ram and the GPGPU functions) are now actually standard (And in the case of the RAM, insufficient) for modern GPUs? Shows what a decade of process gets you.

Also, I have a Geforce GTX275, it's 10.5", which is epic. It also comes with an ugly mutha heatsink as standard and is bitchin fast :p

didn’t 3dfx make a voodoo with 48 separate cores on one pcb for render farms not long before Nvidia bought them.

I us to put my 3Dfx Banshee card back in for some games when I had my GF1 as it would kick it into touch as games were a lot faster and better looking in glide than directX/D3D.
