Yea, I would hope you purge it from your mind as well.

So, in your view high-end gamers and early adapters are fools? Because they are the ones who would be buying this in the first place. And since there are already games out and coming out in the next few months that use this card how can you say it not needed?

I did not say high-end gamers are fools. Re-read what I said.

As for early adapters... why would you buy this before a new dual-core proc, right when games start optimizing for dual-core systems? PhysX is much smaller than that at the moment, and do you really think there's absolutely NO change of Physx bombing?

heck with it, I ain't upgrading or adding anything on this rig for at least another year. Going save it all up for quad-core CPU and dx10 graphic cards.

strange that the AGEIA thing appeared on guru3d only
    these days..
i read about it in the Pczone magazine like 3-5 months ago.
    am i excited about PhysX?
well hell yes anything that offloads and makes gaming
more realistic is welcome and physics is one of the
    best thing ever in games.
who didnt like F.E.A.R physics? the animations was incredible..
i dare anyone to say otherwise but i repeated the same
section multiple times just to watch the guy fall differently
every time after a shotgun blast. impressive.
so i guess PhysX will go the next level. i'm excited. very much. ;)

But..... how does it perform compared to lets say Nvidia's and ATi's Physics Processors built into their cards? Thats the real question we should be asking ourselves since the whole industry is getting ready for Physics and direct X 10.

1st of all Nvidia and ATI dont have special tranzistor for physics, they have shaders that can calculate operatiion which can be used for physics, and no one can tell how much horsepower these cards have in comparison to Ageia. Until there comes a special benchmark for the Physics or a game that can do both Ageia and HavokFX you wont be able to tell the difference.

I do agree but I guess we will all just really have to set and wait because time will only tell if this will take off or not. It seems as of now that most people are for it or hate the idea. Thanks for all the input.

Why is it a "dumb add-on card"? Do you have a reason or are you just another one of these dumb sheep following the rest of the clueless crowd??

lol, yea I can see them marketing stuff like that as well. What can I say it's a business market before anything else, so they are gonna find ways to jack your wallet.

Anyway, check out this new CellFactor video. Now these are some sweet physics.

Warning, this is a 4min 400Mb Bink format video. But worth the download.
