We have received the much talked about ASUSÂ ROG Matrix GeForce GTX 980 Ti for some testing and a review in our lab. I am aiming to release the review next week. For now I wanted to share some photos ... Photos: ASUS ROG Matrix GeForce GTX 980 Ti Arrives at Guru3D
I dont like it. Oversized abomination, this time in gold instead of red. Nevertheless review is in order.
I actually like it. I like beefy design cards(HOF, Strix, Lighting etc). Waiting for the review boss. Kinda off topic but I bought the cheapest(but good) 980Ti I could just to hold me off until Pascal. Why I'm saying this? Because they release some awsome cards and it kinda makes me regret not shelling a bit more for a "better" card. The Classy 980Ti commanded a whole 130euros premium for what I paid and the Strix another 80-100euros. Were they worth the price difference for a 50-100MHz OC? Maybe, maybe not.
depends on how much other hardware/power/cooling affect those numbers. they select the highest clocking chips, so there might still be some room, but i doubt that air/water will gain the same as on LN..
Same goes for the MSI Lightning Best chips that still max out around 1500/2200 in THIS case. And you're right, you'll never get near LN2 results simply because certain factors change so much.
Maxwell does not really benefit from cards like the lightning and classy on air. You could get a reference 980ti hitting 1500 and a lightning or whatever stuck on lower than that. Luck of the draw.
Yeah, the only advantage is better cooling, maybe less noise and neat looks (which don't matter if you don't have a side panel. GPU looks pretty good, but I hate the orange, I mean my mobo is all black and red, some silver and it's ROG, but this wouldn't fit at all visually.
I got 2 of those fans on my R9 280x DC2 cards and thought they really work well actually, I wonder why Asus phased them out of all their cards.
looking forward for the review..other choice for heavyweight OC Card considered change my current card..... 980 Ti = Asus Matrix Platinum, Evga Class-Kingpin, Galax/KFA2 HOF/LN2, MSI Lightning
:3eyes: yes it is because when you open it look clean and pretty on my own PC everything is clean and neat looking despite i don't have a window... Present Perfect is a state of mind lol Nearly all matrix i have seen have finished their life with a water or Ln block to show their real nature unless that it is just a top pick card (wich isn't bad... c1
