We have to own something to be interested in it? :3eyes:

I too would like to see how 6 cores compare to 4 cores in multi gpu setups.

    i5 doesn't have HT .

    Get over yourself bro.

I'm not defending my CPU, i don't know how the hell you came up with that.

I'm saying that this particular AMD cpu isn't as good as it seems for gaming.
    And only for gaming.

    Excellent news, Guru3D is one of my only sources for reviews. This is quite the bang for the buck, if I was still on my E6550 I'd have picked this up. :}

Kapu you are now trolling in this thread to proof your point and this staff will not allow it. This is where you need to stop, and get back on topic please.

Great review, although it's a bit unfair to say that these CPU's get crushed gaming wise. The only resolution where that happened is 1280X1024, and what person buys a $1,000 Core i7 980X only to game on 1280X1024?

    indeed
when looking at the 1920x1080 game benchies the difference is like 3fps max between them them all so they hardly got crushed and definatly worth their money for gaming purposes(maybe not for other decoding stuff etc but hey cant have it all)

kapu, with games in benchmarking setups how can you say even a word about real gaming performance?

for the average person that does not run sli or crossfire LIKE ME there is nothing wrong with this chip it is very good.

we have always known that the i7 architecture is better than the amd's clock for clock.
People this is not new info. clock for clock intel is better.

where this is interesting is this thing overclocks well and is cheap. it does what intel charges a $1000 to do at $300 wow look at that. as far as 6 core goes.

i myself might just get an i7930 anyway because it is faster clock for clock and actually cheaper at 199

It'll be interesting to see if Intel lowers the expected price of the upcoming Core i7-970. Right now it's projected to be sold for $567, but with AMD selling their for $200, Intel may have to drop the price a bit.

Nice review! I'll wait 6-8 months & see what else AMD might release before upgrading.

    Heres my opinion

After reading the review for the 387453745934th time, this CPU looks better and better!

Look at the thermals, they are too low, and looking at the price AMD is preparing for something.

I think AMD is going to stop following Intel ( my opinion on Hilbert's "it's time for AMD to stop following Intel, and start to lead." ) and start leading.

This CPU reminds me the ATI 3XXX cards, they were not the best but their price was great! and look at the 5XXX, they are amazing and getting better, and now they are 1 step ahead of Nvidia.

It looks good for DAAMIT :D

I'm mainly concerned that Intel's offerings are incredibly superior when it comes to something like Dragon Age. I can't bring myself to buy into S1156, already a dead end platform, and I do love AMDs platform better.

I suppose I'm keeping my fingers crossed that their next-generation chips will bridge the gap for gaming while still offering such a great platform.

I can probably hold out until next year. :p

Hilbert will we get a 1,2,3,4 core comparison between 965BE C3 vs 1090T?
