Ah enthusiast overclocking...10.733 s for 1M Super Pi at ~6.4 GHz...my old junkpile just did it in 49.234 seconds at ~2.2 GHz. I see progress.

    Thanks for the article, OldScarface

I wonder how LN2 blocks differ from ones for water cooling, except for being open.

    really nice

but is that mobo the best one for overclocking ?
    better than GA-790FXTA-UD5 ?

    and 1.5v ? is not it too low ? for 6.5ghz ?

1.8v with liquid helium would be insane

6.5 is only 1 core active hence the 1.5v

    it clearly states this.

These may seem pointless to the uninitiated, but it's the nutcases like this grinding hardware into the dirt which lets the rest of us noobs know what our limits are.

Random, but anyway... paper towels? Sham wow. Anyone else think that's a good idea?

That was a nice read. I like hearing about insane o/c's. Jeez, I guess I forgot the liquid helium is only 2c above absolute 0. Thats kind of cool just thinking about that. 6ghz+, thats pretty fricken sweet.

Very nice to see an extreme cooling article on here. Seems there is always more to do with your puter parts.

    Thanks HH and Old Scarface

Hey! i was wondering about somthing when i read that you disabled one core to get higher clocks?

I have the exact same motherboard but cant find any options like that anywhere. I did have a "Downcore" function on my old Nvidia 780a motherboard but i didnt think the AMD motherboard had functions like that?

    Very nice read btw. :)

I quess i could try a newer bios. I have installed v.1105 and if i mess around with the spesific core control, i only have the option to chose witch 3 or 4 core available. This unlocking function has been improving alot with each new bios update so it may well be the case.

    Thanks for your reply.:)
