my X4 940BE is reaching 62C during hours of BC2. are these temps dangerous for the cpu? this seems kinda hot. anyone else getting high temps during bad company 2.

62 isnt very hot for a quad mate, i wouldnt worry about it.

Whats the cooling on it and whats it hit under prime??

lol. not for a quad INTEL. for a quad AMD it sure is reaching the ceiling.

make sure youre getting your temps from something like hardwaremonitor and not the bios. you want the core temps not the "cpu" temp.
what kind of hsf are you using?

yeah i am using pc probe II for the reading. its the stock cooler. might need to get a better heatsink and fan. just idle on windows it is 48-50c.... not to good.

Yea im using the "Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme" cooler - works a treat for this CPU

I noticed that bad company 2 hits the same temps as intel burn test at for 8gb so it is ok, the game is stressful

pc probe at least for me CPU its wrong :S.

cpu idle at 36ºC and cores are at 33ºC.

but on high, cores are on 66º and cpu on pc probe its at 62º....

On everest cores hit more temperature than reported on pc probe.

And cpu will shutdown @ 70ºC everest.

Had to add another fan. 62ºC was winter temps, now was reaching 70.

I may have to buy another fan too.

Altho that gives me a good news. My cpu its not bad lucky at OC, just high temps ^_^.

i had my case fan on the side unplugged because the filter was way to filthy and couldnt be cleaned anymore, so i removed the filter and unplugged the fan. plugged it in now and temps went down 3c while idle. but now dust will be pulled in right to the cpu heatsink. guess i will just have to keep up with blowing it out with compressed air.

mine its not a case one.

My old cpu had a PSU-powered one without speed control. So i just plugged it over the current one. gained 10ºC. Still idk...

    55ºC on AC2 :/

ill wait, but i think that @ summer ill need a new fan+heatsink...

Yeah your temps aren't great but that's not unusual for the stock cooler. I just got BC2 myself today and it really does heat your chip up a lot. I hit 50c which doesn't usually happen, not even close.

okay after cleaning it and changing the stock fan (not heatsink) to the old one i had for my X2, IBT will top on 59ºC instead of the 72ºC before (with dust and stock fan).

With stock cooler and no dust it was topping on 65ºC or around.

I guess i dont need a new cooler. Altho ill have to keep my cpu clean :/.

I also think that the stock cooler makes dust into the heatsink like hell :3eyes:. No space between blades wont let dust get out. Or something. Bcs my X2 never had that amount of dust in 4months @@

some1 could tell me how much temps does artic silver reduce vs the normal thermal paste? Bcs i may buy 3.5g and use it on laptop and this cpu =).
