    Hi,

sorry new to amd.. use to have nvidia.

I'm going to get a hd6990 tomorrow and install BF3.

    What do I do first?

    A) Install Catalyst then install CAP then install the performance driver?

    or

    B) Install Performance driver without Catalyst?

    Or

    C) Install Performance driver and CAP ?

    Thanks!

basically this, but I use DRIVER SWEEPER too, don't really need to. and remember to use CAPS whether on a single card or Xfire because it sometimes helps. Then again using some caps or even drivers can be a game breaker so you should just experiment with it!

I was under the impression that newer drivers should include CAPs from older drivers. after all, they are just game profiles and I would think that if you install older CAPs on newer drivers that it would overwrite the profiles included in the newer driver.

In any case, on both 11.11b and 11.11c I did not install the CAPs and have not had any problems so far.

I had best experience with 11.11c without any additional CAP.

Correct and me too re. no separate CAP for 11.11x and no probs incl. Skyrim. The main point and benefit of CAPs as I understand it are to update Crossfire support between driver updates (which themselves are monthlyish).

There seem to be mix feeling for it.

Should we have CAP with performance driver or not?

If doesnt matter, the driver ALWAYS does it right anyway.

If you have NEWER profiles in drivers, the driver will use those. Meaning if you install an old CAP, with old profiles, and you have already newer profiles in the drivers, the drivers will automaticly use the newest.

To be safe, you can always have the latest driver, AND the latest CAP installed. Again, if the CAP has older profiles than those in the performance driver, they will not be used.

Interesting since it has been mentioned in these forums not to use 11.11 CAP 2 with 11.11c due to problems. I would of course prefer to always have the latest CAPs installed just to be sure.
