    3:18 timeframe

Also isnt the only difference between On and ultra the fact one limits the fps while the other doesnt?

I'm not sure if his conclusion makes that much sense. Frame time variance actually is better when using NULL + driver limiter (flat line in RTSS) than with most in-game limiters, which on the other hand can have an even lower latency (at the cost of higher general frame time variance).
If you care about lowest latency also with variable fps, there is no way around Reflex anyway.

Yes, the driver limiter doesn't automatically limit fps with vsync when setting ULL just to "on". Just to mention it: It only works with D3D9-11 anyway. In D3D12/Vulkan titles, we need Reflex, which btw. just like "NULL" also automatically limits fps with vsync + VRR.

You use ON for everything in general?alot of random threads im looking up are saying off always gives better frametime.Bit confused now.

I generally try "ultra" first and if it is too inconsistent, I go "on". I haven't seen any reliable data (game capture with RTSS graph or benchmark graph by CapFrameX) where it would make any sense not to use at least "on"/prenderlimit 1. I've just tried with Witcher 3 Novigrad and "on" isn't worse in any way vs. default of 3, except that the latter has atrocious input lag.
AMD D3D11 driver forces 1 by default and so do Gallium OpenGL drivers on Linux. It's too bad that APIs are even allowed to use higher values than 1. Try Fortnite D3D12 with multithreading enabled, frame time variance is all over the place. Enabling Reflex or Anti-Lag fixes this almost entirely (well, apart from the other frame time variance issues the game has). So yes, lower CPU prenreder limit even can have a positive effect on frame time variance when CPU and GPU aren't synced well by the game devs (which happens a lot).

hmm Il try to globally set it to ON and see if I notice a difference in my games. If I see no difference il turn it back to off.

Fps limiter is a part of NULL and the choice of where to limit the fps is done by the driver team to prevent spikes which may go above it high enough to hit vsync limit - which would kinda defeat the purpose of NULL. Talking about Gsync displays here.

ended up changing the lot again, so far no latency drops or fps dips, my old 1080TI drops a bit but the 3080FE seems no not care what you push its way,

i miss messing around with the loot,

yeah allot of games now seem to use Fullscreen window mode or Fullscreen borderless, some games work fine others don't respond

thanks for your your reply, so if i understand well the windowed mode is only for games ,not for applications.

The other way around mostly. With windowed mode enabled you'll get gsync activating in some applications (Photoshop is an example) which may lead to poor results.
With games most games on Windows 10 these days will only need this if you actually want to run them in a window - not borderless but non fullscreen window specifically. Otherwise it should be fine with just using fullscreen.

Thanks for your reply, I have set now the option full and windowed mode yesterday and my CAD programs also RAD Studio 11 are more fluent now, and no difference on games as I expected.....

when i enable v-sync on my asus pg259qn monitor with g sync my fps get nailed on 324fps or something round there. Anyone has a clue why? i was not able to understand. and i have only fortnite installed but dont believe this can be game related?

If you have NULL enabled (Low Latency: Ultra) then it will limit you to some number below maximum refresh when vsync is on to prevent latency spikes which may occur when some frame would run into vsync limit while rendering.
Since your monitor is 360Hz this number may be 324 fps (which is 90% of 360).

Also this may be a result of you running Fortnite with Reflex Boost.
