    €750 for 3060 12GB doesn't help growth either.

Let's take a wild guess on why it's so expensive.

It's really much more than that and at this point it affects every single sector.

    No sh*t Sherlock. (at headline)

This. The craze is pretty much over, imo. It's just a multi-industry shortage.

Oh, yes. Without the crypto craze, a 500 euros graphics card might cost 550 euros due to the chip shortage. With crypto it costs 850 euros. Indeed it's so much more than just crypto.

And when miners dump their cards, it's going to slow down even more.

So, if the US market is buying fewer PCs specifically because of the shortage, that could also mean:
    A. Chips for other industries have been prioritized
    B. Other countries have been getting more shipments
Neither of these are bad things.

    *Shudders*

I hope my platform will last another year at least because for whatever reason I never had a computer where the motherboard didn't fail in its fourth year (been building since 2009).

I lucked out big time when I procured my RTX 3090 back in late November though so there's that!

If motherboards are consistently failing at year 4, you should really figure out what you're doing wrong.....

You make it sound like the sample size is huge when the reality is, it's only been two boards......

Out of more than 100 builds, I've only had a handful of boards not last 5+ years....without user/builder intervention. The boards that didn't last 5 years or more, all failed within the first year or 2.... Or they went up in flames around year 3....but we don't discuss that.
I've been using a UPS for the last 20 years.... I haven't had a motherboard in one of my own personal systems fail in the last 20 years. I bought the first UPS after the last motherboard failure back in 2001.
