PAY for Sandra Pro 2003 service pack??? I am incensed with Sisoftware and jaggedonline after receiving the following email from jaggedonline asking for money to update SandraPro2003 to SP1. They need to be sent a message loudly and clearly that this kind of ripoff won't be tolerated. Jaggedonline's email follows after which is my reply (What do you folks think?): Every day new technology is released, and in the last 4 months since the release of Sandra 2003 we have listened to your feedback and added additional support for a multitude of new motherboards, chipsets etc. I have added a comprehensive list of the changes at the bottom of the e-mail. As a valued customer I would like to invite you to purchase your copy of Sandra 2003 SP1 on CD for the price of $12.99. Please note that the version on the CD is the complete version, there is no need to worry about patching. We are not asking you to buy the software again this cost just covers the CD and postage and packing, CD will be shipped very soon order yours now by clicking: My response to Sisoftware and Jaggedonline: This is absolute b s to have to pay for a service pack; why is this technical update fixing your bugs not available for download as promised by sisoftware when they enticed me to upgrade from my previously purchased copy of Sandra Pro. If a free update is not forthcoming, I will begin contacting Sandra Pro 2003 licensees to begin a class action lawsuit against sisoftware for false advertising and promises. paul m diener, D.Sc.Information Technology Windows XP Associate Expert
The following reply received from Jagged online via email (certainly they were not clear about any upgrade other than the 12.99 CD): You are not being charged for the Service Pack you are being offered the chance to get the CD, hence it is just the cost of the CD, it will be available for download for no charge, we are just offering people the convenience and option of getting the CD. Ordering the CD now just gives you the chance to ensure you get a permanent lasting copy, we are just responding to customers requests to offer a CD option.
Screw that should only be no more than $1.25 0r $1.50. For one it probably only cost around 50cents to make and the damn thing should only cost around 75cents to ship. Freakin rip off!!!!
