    PAX X-Fi Forte OS-Driver Suite V1.00

    “Tweaked Edition”

    Supported cards:
    X-Fi Forte

    Supported OS:
    XP, Vista, Win7
    32 and 64Bit

    Based on:
    2.20.0000.27
    + updated Tweaks as of 8 31 10
+ THX Console 3.10 my version let me know if works.

    Important :
Before installing, remove all traces of any previous x-fi drivers and all x-fi driver, by removing the driver within "Device Manager". To clean up any excess files left on your system, you should use a 3rd party program to do this job (unless you've a good understanding of the registry) A recommended program to do this is Driver Sweeper - which is freeware, and available from http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ or paid version at hardwareheaven.com driver cleaner.net

Then Please used a Reg Fixer program like Iobit.com windows adv one care. Or Crap Cleaner or any other tune up programs that fix Reg and that Defrag the Reg. Please check for error on hard drive before installing new driver.

    What is Pax?

Formally known as Youpax, Pax was founded by Robert McClelland 5 years ago, who is continuing to provide an alternative tweaked driver to the Official driver released by Creative.

Why should I install this Pax alternative?

Pax is aimed at improving sound quality and to give a more deeper bass sound, while retaining the clarity of the overall output audio. Most users continue to use Pax drivers once moving over and never look back!

Do these drivers artificially add more bass? Or do they actually use the Forte in a way that it actually provides better sound quality?

EDIT: I tried installing these drivers and they don't work. I just end up getting two "High Definition Audio Devices" in my device manager (one being onboard, the other being the Forte).

    Awww, come on!

    Windows 7 32bit for Prelude.

yes, I've used driver sweeper and checked everything else.

I have working sound, with a non loadable GUI for entertainment mode etc and a malfunctioning THX console that keeps failing to load after picking the device.

The installer just disappears to the desktop after this.

I see only the Dolby and DTS packages are listed in add/remove.

    At least CMSS3D is working...

I will test these on my Forte tonight. The forte is very seriously lacking quality drivers, so i hope these turn out nice.
