Titans are to salivate over, not complain about the price. Buy one or don't but it's clearly the most bad a$$ video card you can get when released. :nerd:

It's like getting a Ferrari/Veyron. I'd love to, but can't. Of course some Corvette will arrive in 6-9 months and be just as fast for a lot less money. Me, I'm happy with a little Porsche Boxster.

    Surprisingly as I didn't get a shipping notification -

My Titan X just arrived :D

Will be playing around with it tonight - and getting a stable overclock.

Best done via Afterburner +on the core and mem? don't really know anything about pascal overclocking!

Can I come over to test it together? Hotel stay and flight tickets will just cost around 1/4 of Titan X(P) price.

I will save 3/4 if I check it out before buying... Oh wait... :bang:

Faster than two 1080's in SLI? That's impressive!

Seems to me this would be the only card that could do triple 1440p monitors at decent framerates and be compatible with all software and not just a few that happen to work OK with SLI (not that many any more as game engines don't like multi gpus these days)

It's not an argument against it coming out -- it's an argument for less of a reason of Nvidia needing it to compete.

If one does come out I'm buying it, so it makes no difference to me lol

    It's not 9 fps. It's like 35% at 1440/4K and overclocked it's even more.

Only faster if the 1080's have poor or no scaling.
The poor support for multi GPU in modern api's is helping Nvidia market these type of cards to gamers.

Hopefully MS release the MGPU DX12 update and if Vulkan takes off then Kronos may work on something similar.
That in turn would make two of these even better.

Because it works. Because history. Because AIBs will want it.
Because even if Titan X is a smashing hit, re-releasing it generates headlines, energizes AIBs and sales. Because in order to maximize sales every single die gets reused several times in both consumer and pro space.
Because using particular Gx1x0 in nothing but Titan has never ever happened.

As to how to cut it. Come on... I am sure you can think of way to take GP102 and make a new product that makes sense, let alone Nvidia who is master of reusing its dies.

Looks like a nice card for 4K gaming, if you have the money ...
Curious to see where the 1080ti will stand.

Nvidia would be silly to leave the sub-1000 dollar range on the table. Certainly they will allow time for all the people who would wait to get the Titan, probably 3/4 months, they may wait until the end of the year.

But between now and Volta, they will release a card to capture the 700-800 dollar range, they'd just be silly not to. Competition in that segment is irrelevant. 1200 dollar cards are marketed to the extreme high end and to people with a lot of income. These are not the kind of buyers that wait for a price drop. These buyers will buy early.

From there, in a few months, the Titan sales will be relatively small, it would be very simple to disable a core on the Titan, or downclock is 150mhz, call it a TI and sell it for 700-800. You capture all the 980ti users and anyone else who the 1080 wasn't enough for. You capture a few 1080 users, and probably some AMD Fury X people who need more performance but didn't want the 1200 dollar price point.

And you don't even have to do any work. It's same chip, same cooler, same everything. I can't imagine why you wouldn't do it.

So if a Ti comes out and it's the same as the Titan X, just downclocked and sold at $800. Will you play Zenyatta?

    I bought mine for ~$650 w/tax.

    $660 in stock.

Idk, If they did MSRP at $750 on a Ti and let AIB's sell for $800 there would be a bunch of new people that would buy that. Especially people with 4K monitors.

The Kingpin 980 was $750 -- but the Ti was still priced at $650. Just because there are 1080's at $800 doesn't mean the Ti can't come under that.
