I have a Gigabyte GTX460 in my HTPC, its not affected by this or?? I couldnt really see in the OP, what the problem is?? Although when trying to change color options in 260.63, my colors get all messed up if I try to change some of the settings. If I dont touch some of the color sliders, no issues? So short story even shorter, is this only palit/gainward issue, or all of the 460 models? Thx in advance!

Just thought I should add into this:

    1. Have a Palit Geforce GTX 460 Sonic Platinum

    2. Was waiting for 260.63 Beta eagerly hoping they would fix my over-scan issue with my HDTV (which they did eventually...-but thats a diff story).

    3. 260.63 Beta came out, did clean install several times-always crashed my system with red artifiacting and recovery every 15-20seconds then crash again.

    4. Installed an old 7900gs it worked fine with 260.63 betas

    5. Called Palit was told no need to update bios it was driver issue.

    6. Spoke to nvidia level 2 technician was told it was a bios issue.

    7. Emailed Palit support directly and was given a winrar file with new Bios and flashing instructions.

    8. Followed instructions, flashed new Bios Version: 70.04.1B.00.02

    9. Reinstalled 260.63 Beta drivers and they worked perfectly.

    -Weird issue I had:
I had been using VGA cable to get my native resolution of 1360x768 to fit on my TV because the HDMI cable setup had been overscanning. Nvidia told me this overscan was due to a problem with the HDMI audio. So if i disabled HDMI audio under "change resolution" the HDMI cable config would scale properly without overscan. This fix did not work with the previous 258.96 drivers ( i think tahts the right number) but did work with the 260.63 betas but only when:
    -I plugged in VGA cable
    -then plugged in HDMI cable
-disabled HDMI audio on vga output of TV
    -then unplugged VGA cable
-then it would properly scale my native res via HDMI

if i tried just plugging the HDMI cable in right away whenever i disabled the HDMI audio the screen would go black and never display anything.

i had to kind of trick it into thinking there was no audio with the vga cable i guess? i dunno it just worked haha.

-I know this doesnt really answer anything but its just some more info if anyone needs it.

Verdict: the new bios version i mentioned does work with the 260 beta driver on this card.

Just ran the BIOS update for my two Palit Sonics, then installed the 260.89 driver. Smooth sailing now :)

Yes. I originally had major issues (crashing every 15seconds to an artifacted redish screen) with the older bios version on the Palit card when trying to use the 260.xx beta drivers. Can't remember what version BIOS it was>.< I bought the card in late July off Newegg which doesnt really narrow it down, but I figured it was the most recent Bios before this new one they released.

Well with the new beta drivers that came out this isue is gone even without an bios update. It was worth just to wait it out without doing some crazy stuff. :)

    Hi everyone.:newb::newb:
I have a problem connecting my GTX 460 to my Samsung Monitor / TV.
With the VGA i got no problem, but when i try to connect it through a HDMI- VGI cable (HDMI on TV, VGI on card) , at 1920x1080 i got overscan problem and the screen is also blurred. If i disable audio in the nvidia panel, the screen become flickering.
It also seems my HDMI port on card is not working. If i switch the cable (HDMI on card, VGI on TV) i got black screen.
As you can see from above i have latest driver and bios, 1920x1080 is working properly with VGA. This is my system set up:

    I got similar problem

    Hello to everyone,
new user and first post here guess what, it's about a problem similar to this one

I just upgraded my computer from the old Coolermaster PSU 450W and MSI nVidia 8800GT pcie video card not overclocked (every thing was just fine) with the one you can see from my profile info.

Since I installed these components I can hear a disappointing audio noise like a constant buzzz.
This only happens while gaming (Sacred2) and by using the headphones (yet by speakers the noise it's less noticeable.

But this morning another issue, this time the video disappointed me, this is the screen shot while I was playing: http://i53.tinypic.com/aabsw6.jpg

I'm using the latest drivers available from Gainward web site 260.89 (I never installed the crap on the cd drivers) also I got the bios file but there isn't any description by Gainward techs, no mention on what it does how to install and why it's available for download.
Maybe they believe that they know it very well so every one else do, but hey this is a "retail" product!

this bios is already on my new gainward gtx 460 gs, just bought yesterday. So nvidia mint the future users to solve the problem.
Nvidia as driver maker is much better than ati, believe me.
I just was an ati fun with my 5770 but got frustrated because the buggy drivers. Now i'm happy to have bought an nvidia card beacuse all is smooth as hell and without problems.

Well, while I have had crashes with both drivers, however ATI would just tell me it had crashed and now recovered, whereas nVidia will give me a royal BSOD and force me to reboot.

Are you using drivers with modded INFs? When my drivers crashed during Furmark benches it automatically reloaded and resetted to stock values, didn't show a warning though.

When I was using a driver installed with a modded inf, I sometimes got BSODs when using the card (not Furmark, games). Now I'm on 260.99, not BSODs and running fine like it did before.

I remember my ATI driver crashing when I OC'd it to play Crysis, apparently that game has issues with OCs. Didn't get a BSOD in either case.
