    Hi.
My friend bought a new computer today i helped him pick out. the specs are.

    Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Bios 0704
    Intel Core i7 920
    OCZ Gold Low Voltage Triple Channel 6GB Kit 3x2GB DDR3 PC3-16000 2000MHz
Currently VTX Radeon 5770, Sapphire 5870 soon.
    Nexus 1000W
    Megahlem cpu cooler.
    NZXT Whisper
Promise Fasttrak TX4650 Installed in PcieX4 slot
    WD Caviar Black 1TB x4 in Raid10

Now the problem. We have now for 6hours, its now 6 in the morning here, tried diffrent configurations to get the RAM to work correctly. Ram is installed in orange slots A1 B1 C1. On stock speed there is no way to get it working at 1600MHz or 1866.
The problem is that the ram shows up as 4088MB not 6136 like its supposed to. So one stick isnt showing up. We have tried all the sticks separetly and they all work.
If we run the ram @1066MHz everything is fine but this is a huge drop in performance. 1333MHz also worked a couple of times.
We ran intelburntest 8 threads 5100MB ram 5 loops, Furmark and HDTune all at once and none crashed or gave any errors. all calculated fine.
We've also tried upping voltages, lovering voltages, disabling/enabling diffrent cpu options. Manual Ai overclocker , auto ai. DRAM 1.66. This ram is specced to 2000MHz @ 1.65V so it should atleast do 1600MHz at that voltage.
The ram-sticks dont run hot and are all at about the same temp.
We googled for this kind of bug and found one thread about someone having a megahlem on a p6t deluxe v2 and having a memory trouble like this. He explained that retaining it too much caused this. So screwing the tumbscrews too tight would bend the motherboard and make a shortcircuit that would couse this.
I at first thought this was impossible. So without anything else to go on we removed the heatsink and cpu. Cleaned them with Artic silver cleaners. Cleaned the cpu socket with a airduster. New AS5. Installed.
Atfirst we had a moment of joy becose it actually worked. With 1600Mhz, showing up 6136Mb. The joy was short thou. Now were back at the sometimes 6136 sometimes 4088. We reflashed the bios. No help. And cmos resets.

Anyone ever had problems like this ?
The story became long, sorry for that and the typos. tired. sleep now.

    Update

    Good morning.
After some well needed sleep we acutally had it working for a longer time 1664MHz 8-8-8-24 timings. DRAM V 1.66. CPU 2.98GHz, CPU V 1.32, CPU PLL 1.92, QPI/DRAM V 1.33125.
After memtest which passed at 33% which was weird. No errors thou. next boot we again had only 4088MB ram. So again with moving around the megahlem abit and blowing some sparkly magic dust on it we hoped for the best.
But still just 4088MB showing up. Cold boot or reboot doesent affect it.

    Update 2 .
We tried the D.O.C.P. Ai clock option. BSOD while tring 2006MHz DDR3. Now @ 1805MHz cpu mp x18, 150mhz bclk, 2.7GHz, got into windows. boot post showed 4088MB and windows only sees 4GB but CPU-Z shows all 3 sticks 6GB.

configure the memory using the XMS profile.
