Againts everything i know i tried some of the SO CALLED tweak utils .

    ATI tool and Game XP.

All I did was install them and left as is. Now my CPU runs like a mutt.

I did get close to 900 points in the CPU test in 3d mark 2005, it is now only 450. This ofuase has KILLED games and over all bench mark scores.

I re-installed the chip set INF and video to avail.

Time to reload or is there a fix?

    Cheers :)

What's your cpu temp like ? Both idle and full load ? Maybe it's getting too hot and u get the throttling effect....

Temps are at boot about 31 .

I dont use a monitoring tool though after giveing it a good thrashing then going into bios the temps are about 41. So take into account the time it takes to do this, i would say add 5 or so.

    I am not happy

I removed both programmes and then regedit for about 2 hours.
I then spent 2 hours going through system , system32 and well basiclly everything to get ride of traces. The hell with using SO CALL cleaners and reg cleaners. Been there b4 and that makes things worse

Anyway, after another 3 hours of this CPU seems to be ok, no benches yet just games. Games still ran like crap. hmm.

After about 12 hours ALL UP  it turned out to be 2 things that went belly up.

SOUND reg keys and VXDs, dlls and infs and services. Some services were running that you dont want on AUTO.

    Well, all is good now.

Let this be a lesson to all.

DONT MESS WITH 3RD PARTY TWEAKS. EVER.

Anyway, thank you for your replies.

Oh, yeah normally I would have reloaded and if at work within 1/2 hour i would do the same. But i could not get burning software to work so a back up was not going to happen without lossing stuff I need.

Yah. A format is one of the solutions to that problem. The programs probably messed with ur registry.

    No need to Reformat.
All you need is to do a Full Defrag.
I realised that. My PC was running fine before the Defrag, after that it was sooo slow... So I used a Defragmentation program, I use Perfect Disk 7, and in 5 min now run uber fast!

For the 3th party Tweak, use Game Gain 2. Work a lot!
Also, use Registry Medic and System Mechanic 5 to clean and defrag your Registry.

But im 100% sure your problem is your HDD messed up. DEFRAG IT!

I came close to a reload but its all good now.

It was sound VXDS and DLL that was killing games.

As for the CPU after fixing the services and registry all is good.
The reg had fragments of the tweak programmes that were causing CPU cycles to go through the roof.
