I went for a modest overclock on my new BFG TECH GTX 260OC. Downloaded riva tuner 2.1 and set my core clock to 650mhz. Shader clock to 1400mhz and memory clock to 1200mhz. Could have gone up to 1230mhz on memory clock, locks up at 1238 so deceided to chance damaging my new toy and backed it down. So far I am really impressed with the performance of this beast. All my games run smoothly at max settings, except crysis of course. Run that at high not very high settings and works very nicely. Hope this helps others, my card overclocks nicely for that little boost in performance. I am using my old card an 8800 GTX for my physics X program and it has worked well.:)

Grats on your clocking. GTX 200 series cards are beasts! Fun to really open up the throttle on their performance.

Yes... another happy GTX260 owner here. I had to make a choise between the HD4870 or the GTX260. Last green card i owned was a 6800GT. I went green again because of the physics and the games I play atm. Still have to overclock the card but for now I do not have the feeling I need the extra performance as such :) Time for a new mobo and SLI this beast. But I will wait for a month or two till Nethalem is available.

    one more over here

yeah, this card was worth the money. i got the XFX NADDU which came OC'd to 640 core, 1363 shader, 2300 mem. Using rivatuner i am now running it at 747 core, 1590 shader, 2562 mem. This seems to be the absolute max speed, since heat isnt the issue. furmark 5 minutes at 1920 x 1200 with 16x AA doesnt break 60c. let me tell you this thing flies. 14775 3dmark06 with an e8400 at 3.375. and xfx gave me an $80 refund!

    careful about too much OCing

mine was stable up to 700 Mhz core (linked shaders) and 1105Mhz mems.(was benchmarking for 3dmark06 with my 4Ghz OC on my e8400)

got greedy and tried to push more (tried 720/1110) then got artifacts

a week later, after getting warhead, the game would randomly freeze (core at 650mhz) ..last night warhead froze (4th freeze with artifacts) and when i rebooted I got artifacts everywhere (from POST/BIOS)

luckily the distributor was just near our place (on my way to work) so i dropped by and they gave me instant replacement..Ill never OC my card playing warhead again lol

If you pay for it, no problem my friend :)

    Forgot, I can't...using good old XP SP3, so no 4GB possible !!

Last note, my RAM can run 889MHZ and 4-4-4-10-1T (1:1)...why buy 4GB ;)

    Hansje
