overclocking question

    which give the better results for gaming ? , overclocking the gfx card or the cpu ?

    7950 Vapor-X 1100/1500
    Depends on the game but if I had to choose one it would be the GPU. In your case raising the CPU/NB to 2400mhz will help too.

    BTW what happened to your 6970?

    when gaming I get red dots scattered around the screen and it has not been overclocked at that , even rma'ed it and it was returned "no fault found" . put a 5830 in from my dads system and it is fine , so how is it not faulty lol ? . going to try the oven trick I think if the etailer refuses to change it

    Pop it in the microwave on high for 30 secs, then RMA it. They'll have fun trying to work that one out.....

    Try it in two computers, get proof (photos/video), send it back with proof so they have no choice but to replace even if they can't find a fault.

    I had that exact issue with my 6950.

    It was rma'd 3 times and each time the same issue.

    It was finally replaced by a 7870 ghz version, by the maufacturer.

    From what I have read, this is a painfully common problem with the 6900's.

    but this is a powercolor card lol , and the etailer refuse to replace it saying no fault found
