Hi there I've read the stickys and googled this but using the techniques that i've found have not gotton me very far. My specs are: Amd atlon 64 4200+ x2 3GB Adata DDR-400 Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 450Watt PSU Stock air cpu cooling The best I can do atm is to use the A.I. Overclock in the bios and set it to 8%. Setting it to 10%(max) gives me a blue screen on loading windows. with it set at 8% my system is stable and the heat is not a prob but the cpu is only running at 2376MHz. So its only a 176MHz increase. Multiplier is still set to 11 and HTT is set to auto. I tried a few other ways and was able to get the speed over 2400MHz but the heat was climbing and dropping wildly and my memory was set to DDR-266 and it actually made me lose a lot of points in benchmarking. So i thought i'd ask the pros or anyone who has successfully overclocked this chip further than 2376MHz for some tips and guidlines. Thanks to anyone that can offer some insight
set ur divider to 10 fsb to 240 memory to 166 htt to 4x. that will give u 2.4 400 ram. htt to 250 will give u 2.5 416 mhz ram.its not that hard!!!
Thanks I will give that i try and let you know what happens. should i be able to go over 2400Mhz without a problem? I have heard of higher speeds. Going to go get some Ram heatsinks now.
sort this out before you worry about over clocking 3GB ADATA DDR400 <---- humm raising your fsb to 240mhz to run your memory at 173mhz (346mhz), some you you newbe guys to over clocking really should find out what you are trying to achive with your over clocking and some of you guys giving advice should really give the right advice or at least know what your talking about
Is Adata really that bad a brand of memory? I mean i know its not the best. Atleast tommyk2005 gave some advice.
WRONG lowering the multiplyer to 10 setting the fsb to 240 HTT to 4x and setting your memory divider to 166 will give you 2.4 and your memory WILL be 400mhz. instead the fsb to 250 WILL give u 2.5 and your memory will run at 416.mhz. GEEZ:nerd:
i never heard of that memory but at 2.4 you will be running ddr400 stock thats why you set your memory at 166. at 2.5 your memory will run 416mhz a small o/c. thats why you set your memory divider to 166. i am running ny 4200+ at 2.5 with my memory at 416mhz. you should read up on voltage increases for your memory and especially your cpu. my advice is to try 2.4 and test p-95,memtest, 3d mark 2001 2003 2005 2006. test for 24 hrs if you can

Guys just forget it I am not here to start a war between people. All i want is some solid advice. Geez come on ppl. Screw it I came here for some advice and now i think it's just better to leave the A.I overclock at 8% which almost gives me 4600+ speed with no change to my dual channel memory or to voltage settings. Very little change to temps also. Btw i got heatsinks for my ram, upgraded the chipset heatsink and cooler and got a better cpu heatsink and fan, and a 12cm exhaust fan. I also have a Zalman vf900 for my graphics card. Btw all i can say is Zalman rocks and Thermaltake is utter crap. I will never buy any of their coolers again. What a nightmare. Ok so lets stop the fighting ok...
