Recently I updated my 163.xx driver to 169.xx forwhatever reason I can't think of

TF2 starts to stutter after 10 mins into the game
Well I tried rollback but for some reason it didn't happen
Then I tried uninstalling the driver using the tutorial given here
    Still no luck

In the end I reformatted the pc
    There was luck...for a moment
Using the old driver it still stutters but after 40 mins
    Any help on this?
    Mainboard : Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLi
    Processor : AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @ 2200 MHz
    Physical Memory : 2048 MB [ 2x 512mb DDR 1 Kingston , 1x 1gb DDR1 Kingston ]
    Video Card : PX8600 GT TDH 256mb GDDR3
Hard Disk : WDC (80 GB)

why are you running your ram like that? not a good idea, sohuld alwys used matched modules. Stutters, you mean pause for a few seconds?

Exactly, if you change one thing it may effect another thing, and anyway it wont hurt to try

Make sure you gpu fan is running. If is not the gpu shuts down after a few seconds of gameplay so save the graphics card..

Well updating the soundcard driver doesnt seem to fix the problem

Will this really fix the stuttering and freezing that I am experiencing now? Because I am having doubts of one guys post about his game freezing after updating to that driver

Besides im having phobia of updating drivers because I dont know how or why TF2 is still stuttering/freezing even I use the old stable driver I used last time before updating...

    Even after a clean format...

reinstall the game.. it is very possible that something went wrong with the game when you updated the drivers, another reason might be you internet and packet loss causing the graphics to hang for a bit until the the packets reach their destination and considering TF2 is an MP game sound logical to me, finally might just be your Ram possibly one of the sticks are about to give up the ghost.
i recommend running the 2x 512mb and remove the other one if same problem remove the 2x512 and put only the 1gb stick.

    1. reinstall the game and try

    2. if no go then try a combination of memory sticks

    3. if no go then disable your Antivirus perhaps?

    4. if no go.. then i don't know
