just a touch of cold hard (airless) fact:

there is no company in the world - or even every company in the world combined, cannot afford to Luna-scape the Moon to create an ad visible with the naked eye - even with a drone fleet (because they have to pay to get out of Earth's gravity well).
in essence - in old timey currency - you're spending a 100 Franc note to get a Centime

I thought of a cheap(ish), mostly resource free way, but am not sure I should post it in case there are nutters prepared to try it lol.

early days he was very militaristic "Starship Troopers", "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress", "The Man Who Sold The World" (very on topic) but his best work became a psychedelic "bible" "Stranger In A Strange Land"

should be a thread about songs and band names from science fiction.
Heinlein started me thinking with "Starship Troopers"- Yes, "The Man Who Sold The World" - Bowie (plus Lulu & Nirvana covers).
then there's Steely Dan from Wm. S. Burroughs ( a steam powered dildo) and so many others...

We need to get up there and claim all the resources for ourselves before those countries that we don't like get them.
That's why we have been doing all this research on space and laser weapons.

We got to the moon with a 4kb computer in the 60's but can't get back since. Something stinks imo. I should be able to send drones to the moon with my phone at this point.

only reasons we haven't gone back to the Moon are logistical, not technological.

you have to have a skyscraper's worth of fuel, plus air & food to land 2-4 people on the Moon. you can go about it with a lot of medium sized launches or two or three heavy lift launches, or as is the case, a super heavy lift like the Saturn V, Constellation, or Starship (the biggest and strongest of them all)
the vast majority of that mass is spent going to orbit. it's why they call planetary bodies "gravity wells"
but that's only if you have a mature aerospace industry

it would've taken a series of Space Shuttle missions to assemble a ship. the shuttle couldn't go because of the fuel requires more lift than it can generate and no-one thought of an orbital gas station being possible until now. it was sci-fi
