With those cars you'd be better off getting a crossover because that's what they all pretty much are. You want an SUV, get a used chevy suburban or ford explorer or something like that.

I would say Subaru Forester, but if you are just going to drive it on the road then the Rav4, except there is a new model coming out soon so it might be worth waiting for that.

SUVs are bad, mmmkay. I would honestly advise against buying one, you'd probably be happier in a standard sedan.

If you REALLY want an SUV Id say stick with a Jeep. Ive owned a few before and I like how well they hold up and the new style 4-door wranglers technically are SUV's. Although they dont exactly get the best gas mileage...

If you want good working car with least problems, go with Toyota RAV-4.

I have bought about 6 months ago Toyota Highlander 2006, with 4 cylinders it gets 27mpg highway n 24mpg City. spent $15k it came with 32k miles on it. 3 months after I bought it unfortunately had lost my license for a year..:(

I'd say Toyota, but then decided to vote for the Nitro because they are cheaper and GM offers a lifetime power train warranty and you'll probably get one fully loaded for the price of an entry level Toyota. Not bashing Toyota or anything, they are excellent vehicles, but GM came out huge with their warranty and pricing.

I looked at all of those when I was buying myself a new 4WD off-road vehicle, but they were seriously all cramped inside and Toyota was too expensive for what you got.

I went with a Nissan Xterra. Been driving it for over a year now and I still love it. Only thing I didn't get on it that I wish I did was the electronic lockers on the rear axle, although I haven't got stuck yet. I think I paid 23K total brand new.

There isn't a single *actual* SUV as a poll option, so none of the above.

It this is the sort of thing you're looking at, just buy a wagon.

I know you said not to add an SUV/crossover that wasn't on the list. but you should really consider a Nissan Murano. I have an 2006, gives me 25mpg average. really good car, and comes ith rearview camera standard.

    Subaru something.
Fun fact, the Nitro, the compass, and the patriot are all the same car and they all suck. The Jeeps have no right to have the jeep name.
You could also buy a used 4.0 HO Cherokee. ****ing bombproof.
Yes, I'm adding because your selections suck.

(Comedy option of the Ford F150 SVT Raptor :) )

Of the choices you offered, The rav4 four or Honda. the jeeps are solid enough but I can't fit in one comfortably and i'm only 6 foot 2 inches tall. It amazed me how something that large can have no head or leg room at all. My neighbor just bought a RAV4. I'm not a fan of SUV's but hey it was actually nice and comfortable. Never drove one, it may be gutless slug that handles like a boat, I just don't know.
The Nissan Murano would be a better choice IMO but prices start in the upper twenties.

NM+ your avatar has gone tits up
