Quick question, all. What exactly are Omega drivers? I think they're some form of hacked nvidia drivers, but I'm not exactly sure what their purpose is (i.e. are they supposed to be faster than the WHQLs/betas provided by Nvidia?). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

hello , let me say that this driver "v116925"-vista, got me 200 more points on 3dmark06 with my vcard at default clock settings. its a keeper ....but i didnt see much performance in Crysis if you guys are wondering ....and COD4 yeah i can tell i got some more fps. :VISTA: (32bit Only) http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1815 :XP: (32bit Only) http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1814
In general they are meant to give you more performance and visual quality. Whether they do or not I don't know.
I would assume they're for faster performance, if anything. My only concern is since these aren't based on the 169.28s, I'll probably have that hitching issue with UT3. I'll probably check them out when I get home to see for myself. Thanks for the input, all.
well i went from 169.21whql to these, and didn't really noticed any diff., although in Fear combat i noticed more stutter than usually, i don't know gonna test some more, but from stability and other games they seemed ok, the original driver's where good too.
There was a time when ATI catalyst was the worst thing to install on a machine. Then this Omega dude showed up and modified those Radeon drivers. Until PCIxpress the Omega drivers were No1. I haven't tried any of his latest NVidia or ATI ones recently though. Only AGP ones and they were good!
