I'm sure it is. I just found it very underwhelming on the alienware I had. Most OLEDS only do high nits between 2-10% windows and then there's a huge dip.

Okay... I mean, I'm always in to tackle things like VRR flicker, but I'm not sure how that works, since simply "reducing" the lower floor of VRR refresh probably doesn't do much by itself.
I'd have more understood if they went from 60-120Hz since it's alot easier to retain a constant refresh rate for the display in the bottom half, not the top half... curious to see how this really behaves during reviews.

    in OP

    Explanation:
The problem is that, the signaling goes beyond safe bounds thus flicker/strobing occurs (My monitor is 240Hz so im assuming that, value 230Hz is safe and in-bounds).
Tweak is about to have much safer Signal Out of bounds margin of 10Hz.

Im strongly stay by this ;)
I have no Flicker/strobing in SDR/HDR with G-sync ON for Windowed + Full Screen (It changes Hz to FPS) for about a Year now :p
OLED is Great .... is set right.

Yeah don't get me wrong I too think it's something one can handle, still I'm curious about the technicals of their solution to a problem that right now isn't even 100% common knowledge on where it comes from and how it can be countered.

They simply try to put in-check those out-bound signals by adjusting FreeSync Range.
We have more permanent solution thx to my Tweak, limits Hz ;) then set FS range is a final nail to flicker coffin :D

So it's not down to frametimes? Do you mean it's down to the difference between Hz and FPS range, rather? If so I misunderstood it before I have to admit

Man I should have never returned my neo g7 for lg 27gs95qe oled. It's dimm and colors look weird in HDR. I'm returning it. It also has a grainy coating.
Even our older qled VA TV has better colors in sdr and HDR. The only good thing about is the contrast, blacks and Grey colors look good.

@OnnA could you provide a CRU file for Samsung G8 OLED? :)

I'm having trouble using CRU, the monitor wont like it if I switch VR-range or try to modify the panel to run 165Hz insted of the native 175Hz.

Your ASUS PG27AQDM file worked fine for the ASUS, I figured trying to get the flickering of the G8 go away by using your guide but no avail

I can't, You have Your own PC specific EDID.
Just Learn this thing, it's not so complicated.

First make Default saved (In CRU folder is Reset BTW).
Then only adjust what is needed.
Should work NP, or Samsung fkd somethings up and don't like CRU

TIP: then U can make some other good Tweaks by CRU
e.g. Disable/Lowered Sound in Monitor to save some bandwidth ;) and some other usefull stuff - just browse CRU and think, it will come NP.

I've read the gs95 series is pretty dim due to the ABL, especially if you try to enable the peak brightness setting.

Did you turn off Smart Energy Savings? It's enabled by default which makes it really dark. Using the vivid mode brightens it up even more. HDR requires using Reshade.

Hey everyone, is anybody using LG C4? Could somebody give me a screenshot of its 144Hz timings from CRU?

IMO CRU will do it for You. Juist make first run then restart and check the values.

    I don't have a C4, that's why I'm asking. I want to check something.
