This monitor needs an update because windows is reporting it's only 456nits??

there are different metrics used to calculate the nit rating. however you have enough for at least a True Black rating.
tbh, i just think this model is too new for the database.

    try a few boot cycles and/or re-plugging the HDMI/DP
i've run into this with new model HDR monitors before. when i bought my pg42 ROG i didn't have the problem (it was on the market for 3 months already) but when i bought my 27" TUF ips the exact same thing happened as i bought it in the 1st month of release.

if you still have the issue next week try the Gig drivers on the Gig website rather than auto-updates

Run the HDR app from windows.
And 465 for an Oled is not bad.

tbh it's not bothering me since HDR works well AFAIK so i think it's just a driver update issue thing from GB, also Gsync flat out disabled and not supported according to Nvidia control Panel so that also will dealt with in a future Geforce driver

    That's a really nice investment.

Yesterday, I was looking at the competitive LG 32GS95UE.

    i love Holland...but those prices...

in US the price difference is reversed (for the first 6 months - Aorus is typically highly discounted in monitors in the US.
idk if it's "buying market share" or lack of VAT

    same thing with MSI monitors

There's some good take aways here for the particular screen, but I also liked the comparison to newer offerings.
Makes me think again about WOLED / QDOLED, curvature, screen coating, and the "quality" of display protection features, like (what would have helped I guess) window border / outlier detection.

Curious to see if my wait for such features pays off before purchasing a model later this year going for 240Hz outright, but waiting on 1080p 480Hz reviews for schitts and giggles.

What is the purpose of the -10° pivot on the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED 32".

    Well damn!

Just tried the EIZO CS2731, and it sadly bad IPS Glow. It's a real shame a brand like EIZO is also cheaping out for $1000+ monitors these days. My current one was the same price back in 2012 and doesn't have any IPS Glow. Kinda feared as much as the reviews stated it, but i had to try anyways and see for myself.

Guess i'll ride out my EIZO CX240 for some time longer, maybe i'll see about OLED at some point, i'm not in a hurry anyways.

I guess i'll have to keep an eye on the Samsung G60SD, it's one of the few 1440p QD-OLEDs that will have a matte screen.

Just hope it will be available with black instead of silver, otherwise it's an auto pass.
