Im not saying amds ogl driver doesn't have issues, its just not that bad. https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2013/09/26/dolphin-emulator-and-opengl-drivers-hall-fameshame/ by comparison to other platforms its not terrible on windows and that was 3 years ago,

While i have followed amdgpu for a while, i have no first hand experience with it, glad that they have been fixing it. The fglrx driver was indeed terrible, so many weird issues.

Again if doom hadn't ran normally in the beta i would fully agree that it was the driver.

I think the issues we see with doom are due to nvidia focus and lack of amd interest on the opengl side, nvidia's driver is very forgiving of mistakes and I would say is a feat of software engineering that it works as well as it does.

As for getting the 16.200 driver to work, I dunno, i think its probably impossible at least for me, you either have to be a wizard or need the source to know whats going on, and ida while it is a great tool isn't good enough to debug something like amds driver, too much obfuscation and too complicated.

    A shame
