Hey all! Didnt find approiate subforums for this request and if its in a wrong place then im sorry and the mods can move it. Im currently trying to get some old style anime movies like Baldios, Captain Harlock etc thats was popular in 1980s. What i have found thus far is taht they are very hard to come by on DVD format. Captain Harlock you can by on amazon for a reasonable price (The price is in the eye of the beholder) but Baldios is little harder. What do you gurus get your anime movies?, then im talking about bought DVD movies, not bootlegged copies or pirated discs. Anyway, anime movies is always fun to talk about. Specially the 1980 ones. They had a charm of simplicity over it.
i wasnt into old anime at all but my gf requested i get some Studio Ghibli films, so i "got hold" of about 15 in one go, they start back from 1979 or something all the way through to 2000's jus look for Studio Ghibli
I've gotten my entire Studio Ghibli collection at http://www.outland.no. Best fantasy/anime/scifi store there is over here. Oh, wait. Now I'm lying. I think I got a few off Amazon as well.
I was about to suggest animé movies from studio Ghibli, but seeing as it's already been done... The only one off the top of my head is Akira.
80s Animes in DVD ?, you should watch Bluray too, some anime sucess is released in Blueray format recently, like Akira: Video Video codec: MPEG-4 AVC Video resolution: 1080p Aspect ratio: 1.85:1 Audio Japanese: Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Japanese: PCM 2.0 English: Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Japanese: Dolby Digital 5.1 Subtitles English, Japanese http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=1872
You can get Space Warrior baldios from amazon here : http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/6303388000/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new That's for the movie, english dubbed. For the series, if you know Japanese they have it on Yahoo Japan Auctions but unless you know someone who lives there you'd have to use an online proxy like rinkya and pay them fee's to get it for you which can work out quite expensive. Bandai are supposed to be releasing a Blu-Ray Baldios box set this summer too, no doubt remastered  You could always try Play-Asia, YesAsia or CDJapan, failing all that maybe try ebay... but watch out for pirate copies. Good luck
Wth, I've just noticed they did a remake of the first Ghost in the Shell movie aswell: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1260502/

The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? (1984) The best way to find Anime is import it: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp
Hi no Tori 2772 - Ai no CosmoZone aka Phoenix 2772 - Space Firebird. Old school (1980), impossible to come by the english version, and the only time I've seen it was in 1988 at 7ish in the morning. I've got two torrents running with the original J-version. It's about a little boy who gets a 'hot' nanny droid that trains and accompanies him to become a space pilot. When I was eleven years old I liked it.
