The MCT from the link in my posts above is working now.
RS5 seems to be being offered via WU in some regions now
It's also up on Microsoft's official page for upgrading Windows 10 now, being called Windows 10 October 2018 Update
I'll probably wait forcing it until AMD and Nvidia have released their official drivers though
Yup surprisingly its coming through WU now.
Trying on a VM to see how it goes.
Are there reported problems with 411.70 and 1809?
Yeah, I don't think that there's any issues with using current drivers for now. It's also quite likely that NV will release RS5 driver today or tomorrow.
Media Creation Tool updated to 1809 (RS5)
Not AFAIK, just a precaution in my case.
Just upgraded from RS4 to RS5 and everything seems to be working fine. Apparently, whatever i download and is in the Download folder disappears which has never happened before. Very interesting bug i think, anybody else?
1803>1809 VM went smooth, appears to be working.
Aaaand installed. Clean because fck MS upgrades. WU pushed 388.13 driver on my GTX1080 so I certainly wouldn't worry about the lack of WDDM 2.5 drivers just yet.
No CU's for 1809 on Catalog yet....
Welp. I've done upgrade installs since Win7 thru 8 and 8.1 and 10, til now, w/o issue. Even when I had HDD failures I restored from backup. Just need to run sfc afterwards to make sure there's no corrupted files.
So you have an issue with the upgrade?
Only thing I noticed was warnings (user profile) in event viewer.
nVidia and Microsoft released a post about 1809 and DXR
Looks like Intel is ready for RS5, too bad we always have to wait for AMD.
Well it's Wednesday tomorrow so they might as well out 18.10.1 with WDDM+1 and get it over with, I don't think it'll do much but it'll be there at least. Ha ha.
Does NVIDIA have 2.5 in 400.70 ? Was expecting it to be 2.4 and then a new driver this week or soon after for RS5 coverage.
It's downloading now for me let's hope everything runs smoothly.
No, R410 (411-414) is WDDM 2.4.
Just sfc was needed to repair some files, otherwise working ok. I also use Start10, so I never have to deal with Start menu bugs. I only noticed the Task Manager's inaccurate CPU usage reporting bug. I would also make sure drivers are current. It backrolled my Realtek audio driver to an earlier one due to cert signing issues with the one I had installed.
