What exactly does WDDM 2.5 bring to the table?

I see it when I checked the event log.

So should I keep this or roll back to RS4? I still have old windows option for now..

This event log thingy is a bit ocd for me xD, but so far it didn't do anything negative when I benchmarked the system.

System bsod stability , well.. it's ok but my oldies 4.7ghz OC is still a bit tricky. One time I got 0x101 watchdog or 0x124 wmea bsod. Older bios was a bit more tolerable when it comes to higher oc, but now it's just too old and beta too.. ah well, mostly CPU cache seems to be the biggest issue.. 4.7 + 4.2ghz cache combo..

I couldn't get 4.7Ghz stable even under 1.35v on my 4790k, silicon lottery be damned, so I run it at stock 4.4 @ 1.2v. 6% faster performance not worth 15C hotter unstable CPU IMO.
This event log stuff is bugging me too but from what I understand it was introduced into builds just recently so maybe they'll patch it on Tuesday.

Do you plan on clean installing it in the future? My experience with the upgrade was terrible, as it knocked out both Windows Store and Microsoft Edge. After clean installing it though, it's been great. A few bugs though, which should hopefully get taken care of with cumulative updates.

So far I haven't had any event log weirdness errors going on fortunately enough. The bugs I've noticed so far are:

    1) Microsoft Edge favorites not syncing
    2) Moving or deleting large files can sometimes take much longer than it should
    3) Opening apps and features initially can take a bit too long, even when Windows is installed on an nvme drive.
    4) Longer boot up time than 1803
    5) Clockspeed bug is back for certain X99 builds.
    6) Task manager showing inaccurate CPU and network activity (this is a known bug I'm sure)

    Fairly minor bugs for sure.

^I will keep this install, start fresh is a pain.. I have lots of apps that need adjustments again from scratch.

Luckily Rs3 to rs4 went smooth and no issues, unlike older updates where it fcked up the system to the point I didn't have a working store app anymore. Also any modernapp just failed - calculator, mail, groove...

So far everything works with this rs5 too.

I didn't check event log though just assuming I have a lot of those issues too. :)

I need 1.287v so temperature is still tolerable, but for some reason last official bios seems a bit picky by cache voltage, even at auto it will sometime crash and at auto it raises more then needed, 0.05v more (1.165v to 1.21v).

Guess I will try to tweak again more, now it's a bit colder and 4.7 is usually my get to OC in autumn- winter :D

Biggest missing feature: single window capture in the new and bloated snipping tool

edit: did also Edge received some regressions in web standards?

edit 2: recent item list is broken, they still appear even if the related option is disabled in the system settings -.-

edit3: powershell history is broken, best piece of crap ever made in the Nadella era.

What makes you say that? You would think that EdgeHTML 18 has a greater compatibility with web standards than EdgeHTML 17, and so far, I haven't noticed any issues. This new version of Edge is definitely faster and snappier overall compared to the version in 1803, and the PDF reader is also much better as well.

I am not talking about speed.
Shouldn't Edge 18 support iframe inlining and FIDO2? Because looks like it doesn't like Edge17. I also looked in the optional preview-flags, but there is nothing related.

Well "real" RTM should be released tomorrow (aka same build with different filename) :)
Whether they'll push it through WU the same day remains to be seen. I hope they'll release a day 1 patch / CU to fix whatever they botched in a last few builds that's causing user level errors.

Does that come through WU, or you have to update through the store?

Did you actually try that exe, I saw posts saying it didn't work, but you can trick MCT, like in this link

    https://translate.google.com/transl...o-offiziell-herunterladen/&edit-text=&act=url

PS: I doubt this will come out WU, but maybe a good, real 1809 MCT will be released today.

It doesn't work for now as they haven't released 1809 yet.
