    I'm still on 1703 also, but on a VM i upgraded a 1703 to 1803 and went pretty well. 1709 i avoided like the plague due to many annoyances, mainly the whole mouse derping when selecting things bug in programs like 7-zip and others (which as far as i know, as a few days ago on a PC with fully updated 1709, never got a proper fix). in 1803, this bug seems gone.

    1803 is looking pretty good so far other then that weird lan bug, but that is easily fixed with a service adjustment.

    Oh yeah and for me, 1803 came through from windows update app, and just checking for updates.

    At least they fixed the "feedback frequency" issue in settings.

    how to fix DDE.exe?
    I saw this now when I restarted windows, it closed itself though..

    I did a quick googling and found this, but just some stupid MS help support recommendations, I sure won't do a clean install!
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-warning/b34f507f-e98f-487e-afaf-14185054ab46

    EDIT: looked further and DDE its double desktop switcher, I did have one other desktop active but never use, deleted it for now will see if that fixes it..

    well in old days,..

    Anyway, I didn't see it anymore now.

    But just in case I repaired windows components and WMI with win10 manager.

    Also reran sfc scannow, even though it didn't found anything.

    Also kept 388.13 driver for now and no nvcontainer glitch yet.

    Last time with 398.18 it pinpointed to bex64? File..

    Exception, just in case:
    //
    // MessageId: STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN
    //
    // MessageText:
    //
    // The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application.
    //
    #define STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN ((NTSTATUS)0xC0000409L) // winnt

    Looks like badly coded app to me.

    Vlc player, firefox flash player and winamp.. 90% of the time it happened by Vlc, sometimes by firefox (if watching flash video), rarely winamp..

    So you're saying its those apps fault when this nvcontainer hangs by restart?
    Even though I had those apps for a while and never saw this before, it seemed to start around RS4 and newer driver 391.xx+, or more precisely when Nvidia fixed this nvcontainer for others.

    To me it looked liked this nvcontainer didn't release the app properly in time, all use hw acceleration.

    Edit:
    I see Vlc got updated to 3.03, I had 3.02.

    Does this pinpoint to anything too? I see you have very deep knowledge in these things :)

    I remember this live kernel even 141 code by Grid2 and ROTR back in the past, happened when I still had 780GTX, by Grid2 nvidia fixed it rather quickly (it happened right before race start when camera changed view), ROTR took longer, I think.

    Ok so new vlc didn't have this nvcontainer yet, flashplayer also got updated 2-3x since then and no bug either..

    Will see some more later when I try newer 398.xx again.

    Ok thanks, I reported the bug to quake champions as well, yes its just a CTD and then I saw reliability monitor output that error.

    As I take it that timeout value can be increased in registry, but that is only a workaround of course.

    Funny thing though, m8 has a 1070gtx and he didn't get any, although he used 397.93 driver, I played this game only with 398.18

    I've nothing major to report, have been smooth sailing for the most part, a few gripes with the overprotective defender anti-virus and wrongly sized windows, but that's about it.

    It doesn't look like they did anything to fix the broken networking stuff in 17134.xxx, but I'll give it a try. I currently have to boot to my other install (1607) whenever I want to access network computers in other parts of the house.

    Yeh, looking at changelog not much seems changed.
    It was a really fast update too.
