I had come from the 397 driver in RS1 (as WDDM 2.1) to RS4 with the same driver (as WDDM 2.4) and it ran no differently in my case. I'm not seeing any obvious differences even now on my fresh RS1 install with the 391 far cry 5 driver. I remember you mentioned about upgrading over the years, may be something got fixed during the RS4 upgrade process. Since I'm on LTSB (again) and it doesn't have upgrade capabilities (at least to other branches), I don't have the old windows rut symptoms. I'm using en-US btw. The time zone problem was the biggest one for me and I've reported it to them via feedback in rs2 and 3's development and they still didn't care to fix it. I change from west coast USA time to GMT +4 and everything glitches out until the time difference (12 hours) is made up again because it always set the HH:MM correctly but the opposite of the correct AM/PM. For almost a year I thought I had h/w problems because everyone else ran fine lol. I noticed some other guys talking about it in an old thread with 3 posts in some obscure forum and that's from where I knew what's wrong. If I install in a VHD, OOBE asks me for the time zone before any logs have been created and everything functions correctly but a "real" install doesn't have that option and it causes issues. Onedrive has been broken since March. I assumed the taskbar flickers (in RS4) were just the store doing its thing and I ignored it but it did it again when I used 7-z's extract function and the file picker opened. Tried it again with firefox ctrl+o, same thing. It flickers less after the April CU (and in this) but it's still there. Really disappointed in MS' output for a while. I hope RS5 is better.
