lol thanks, difficult few weeks, PC died, then dog died, took some time out
Yes it will work just fine. I remember installing updates from .cab files shortly after RS2 & 3 hit RTM status.
17134.5 didn't fix the vt-d hang or default apps crashing :\
How do they crash? Silently or after usage? I will be making another vhd and try it out soon.
the default apps crashes are already pretty fleshed out on reddit
apparently only dwm.exe got updated in .5?
Hi bro I know it's off topic but any day we cross the antennas in the MDL (referring to the ESD's added to the OP) still remember to play the ball forward the bad things are fleeting and better things will come with certainty
Ah ok ... I thought you meant the inbox apps. Huh ... I'm surprised it still hasn't been fixed.
I did an upgrade from updated 17133 to 17134 then updated to .5. No crash in 'Set defaults by app' here.
Didn't get them from MDL, used the .xml file from twitter and notepad++ to filter everything but the URLs, then deleted all dupes
I dont have a crash in default apps either. might be some bad install for the people affected.
If you press set to defaults button then it will close, at least here. Otherwise it functions normally.
I never knew about this bug until I tried it with 17134, didn't check 17133.xx..
Sorry about the dog. PC too but especially the dog.
Does this mean the Media Creation Tool will be updated on April 30th or am I reading it wrong?
Yes, that is one way to get it on 4/30 as WU will happen 5/8 approx.
1) They fixed Ableton Live 9 Lite, no more complaining about not being installed properly. (I didn't have to do anything).
2) At the same time as this W10 patch, Bandlab released a patch for both their app and Cakewalk; uninstalling Cakewalk through the app (you must do it this way), then, re-installing Cakewalk through Bandlab app in admin mode will allow proper activation of Cakewalk and it's plugins.
3) Sonar 6 Producer Edition is still broken, but, running in admin mode allows it to run "properly". Same as before.
No problems with games so far.
Just curious about something. LTSB is falling behind in the graphics features levels vs the windows-as-a-service versions that get bi-annual feature updates. Its still on WDDM 2.1 whereas RS4 is now on WDDM 2.4 and DXGI 1.6 (which can detect and work with HDR displays). Not sure about other features that may be lacking. I had LTSB installed for a while last year, but ditched it for the feature updates. Not sure if it will be updated to the latest graphics feature levels in 2019 (3 year update intervals?). Do people still see a point to it anymore? I mean I can see the appeal of no Edge, Windows Store and Cortana... but is that it? Edge, Store and Cortana are virtually non-existent for me in my day to day use anyway, so whats the bloody point of it anymore unless you're running a business or mission critical continuous operations?
I have just tried this, and it goes to a set to default apps screen, no crashing for me.
The point of LTSB is to have a stable platform which is still supported by security patches which is mostly important for machines working in some industrial capacity. For a general user there's very little point in choosing LTSB over the regular release channel.
right for mistake I need change my glasses or maybe my brain not working correctly more
Yeah, know LTSBs purpose, just couldnt see much point for regular users to be on it.
