Actually the only solution is removing the folders from the photos and images libraries paths. Which is not what I really want since it completely removes the ability to browser the picture with the application.. The application only allow to turn on/off the contact tagging. But yes, the Photo app is a mess of bloat-ware rounded with a dysfunctional GUI (like Groove and Movies & TV, which also lack tons of basics feature that every simple media player has)..

It was pushed out a bit ahead of patch Tuesday which would have been next week due to what I assume is the severity of the issue but yeah it's this months cumulative and it should have this Intel CPU issue addressed though at a possible performance hit although it needs further testing although gaming seems only minimally affected if at all.

Patch Tuesday might be the Adobe Flash integrated update and the monthly scan thing if that's not disabled via I think it's a registry key. Plus of course Office for those who has that installed. :)

    EDIT:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4056892

As usual Microsoft isn't going into too much detail for the specific fixes themselves.

EDIT: And I see three new known issues have been added which weren't there this morning after I manually updated through the Catalog storage.

I just installed this cumulative. I'll do some testing to see if there are any performance hits here and there...

Just in case will re-post here the link
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...or-it-pros-to-protect-against-speculative-exe

I installed CU and did PowerShell command and results are:
Speculation control settings for CVE-2017-5715 [branch target injection]

Hardware support for branch target injection mitigation is present: False
Windows OS support for branch target injection mitigation is present: True
Windows OS support for branch target injection mitigation is enabled: False
Windows OS support for branch target injection mitigation is disabled by system policy: False
Windows OS support for branch target injection mitigation is disabled by absence of hardware support: True

Speculation control settings for CVE-2017-5754 [rogue data cache load]

Hardware requires kernel VA shadowing: True
Windows OS support for kernel VA shadow is present: True
Windows OS support for kernel VA shadow is enabled: True
Windows OS support for PCID optimization is enabled: False

    Suggested actions

    * Install BIOS/firmware update provided by your device OEM that enables hardware support for the branch target injection mitigation.
    * Follow the guidance for enabling Windows support for speculation control mitigations are described in https://support.microsoft.com/help/4072698

    BTIHardwarePresent : False
    BTIWindowsSupportPresent : True
    BTIWindowsSupportEnabled : False
    BTIDisabledBySystemPolicy : False
    BTIDisabledByNoHardwareSupport : True
    KVAShadowRequired : True
    KVAShadowWindowsSupportPresent : True
    KVAShadowWindowsSupportEnabled : True
    KVAShadowPcidEnabled : False

So on my rig only mitigation against rogue data cache load is enabled.

Refuse to run ASUS AI Suite so no information there.

GPU Tweak runs fine. Was using version 1.5.3.7 that ended up being broken by the update. Uninstalled it and then searched the registry to remove the fragments left behind. Installed version 1.5.8.1 and all is good to go. The fan service is working again.

So the average use is F******....and i see so much misinformation about this problem on the internet...Intel & M$ hit their goal to confuse people. ;)

Without I have that high pitched fan noise. Tuning within Bios QfanControl is giving me louder fan noise. With AI Suite tuned it is dead silent.

Try to execute this command - "Install-PackageProvider -Name nuget -force -RequiredVersion 2.8.5.208" - In PowerShell. And then try again.

I tried that got these results

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Install-PackageProvider -Name nuget -force -RequiredVersion 2.8.5.208

    Name Version Source Summary
    ---- ------- ------ -------
nuget 2.8.5.208 https://onege... NuGet provider for the OneGet meta-package manager

But didn't help with the other commands.

You can ask big boss Hilbert here
    https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/windows-10-cpu-bug-fix-patch-benchmarks.418790/
    - he sure solved his problem with PowerShell.
